    Problems with fps in cs

I can keep a conistent 100fps a second with my 9800 Pro and 2600+. It's most likely a game issue. And btw, you should not be getting 500fps a second, thanks to SHITTY VALVE CODE.

    Is UT2004 dx9?

That is probably referring to the DirectX 9 API, not DirectX hardware. UT2K4 is based on UT2K3 code, which was DX8.1.

    R9200 vs R9600se

I would go with the 9200. DX9 support means nothing if the card itself is castrated (read GF FX 5200). The 9200 has a 128-bit memory bus, while the 9600SE is only a 64-bit bus. The 9600 series cards really relies on memory and GPU clock in order to perform well, since the core itself is not very...

    Theory on CS FPS Drops

The problem with Counter Strike is that Valve code completly sucks cock. There is no good explanation whatsoever why anyone with a GF2 or above should not have 100FPS in CS constantly. My 9800 Pro is just now seeing consistant 100FPS in CS with the last update to CS. It's really sad when I used...

    softmod 9500np vs 5900nu

The 5900 should smoke that 9500np card, unless he is VERY lucky in having one of those moddable ones. If it is a normal 9500np, than the 5900 is going to beat it in all ways possible.

AGP 69MHz and 1.6 VDDQ on 9800 PRO OK?

Never, ever screw with the AGP or PCI clocks. They do nothing but cause data corruption when run out of spec. There is a reason why most chipsets include PCI/AGP locks now.

When will it be advisable to upgrade from an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro to something better?

If you want to upgrade from a 9700 Pro, I would think it would be fair to say that you have a fair bit of money to spend. I say keep the card, what do you really need a new card for. An extra 10 FPS in games you are already at 60-99? Wait until the R420 generation of cards, and when games start...
