Well, I tried to lower my vcore and speed as much as I could and realized that I can't get lower than stock speeds. I think my mobo won't let me. So, it's at 333x9 w/ bios vcore set at 1.2250. That's about 1.1950 in reality. My temps are ::drumroll:: 50C idle and 56-59C load. The load temps kept...
I used stock voltages and stock speed. It idled the same but maxed out at 56 or so. I did in fact do the sensor test. The number that came up was a 6. I just did it again and got a 4 after OC'ing to 3900.
I will try lowering the vcore as low as possible to see what effect that has. I don't...
Well guys, I tried a few things. I believe I had it OC'ed to ~3700, 1.300 vcore.
1. Remounted by placing a thin line of compound on the IHS first, then plopping down the S1283. Results, ~52 idle / ~63 load
2. Remounted by placing a dab of compound in the middle of the IHS. Larger than a...
Thanks for the replies.
Coretemp is consistently 10C above realtemp and Abit's uGuru is always 7C lower than realtemp.
Yea, damn it. I may try a remount following conventional methods as opposed to what people were doing specially for the xigmatek cooler. No matter how hard I try it seemed...
I wrote that it was MX-2 (Arctic). Supposedly one of the top thermal compounds.
Normally I would do that for any other type of heatsink. But the xigmatek has the whole exposed heatpipe thing. Which is why I did it on that to make sure it spread correctly. I was just following the example of...
Well, just purchased a E8400 and built my first comp. Full specs in sig.
Batch: Q808A
Vid: 1.2250
Temp. readings from realtemp.
-------------------------------------
The first time I mounted the E8400, I had it running at 3600 (400x9).
Idle temps = 52C
Load temps = 60C
VCore =...
I think he means to notch the hard drive trays so that I can use 90 degree cables. Most of the stress on those cables are not on my data cables but the power. I may mod it just for the power cables alone. I don't know why I didn't think of it. Probably because I just wanted to be up and running...
90 degree cables would not fit due to the reversal of the hard drive installation. There is now too much of the hard drive tray sticking out past the hard drive itself for the 90 degree cables to work. I thought about it until I installed it. It was clear that it would not work. :(
Yeah, I know. I've read the reports of broken SATA connectors. In fact, I broke two during the installation because of the lack of room to maneuver when I was trying to take them off. That's why I don't plan to ever touch those connectors again unless absolutely necessary, now that I've set...
Well, finally got to building my very first comp. The Antec Solo was a little cramp for all the stuff that I packed in there. After a broken sata data connector on a hard drive and a broken sata power connector on my cd drive, I was finally done. (Luckily both drives still work)
Thanks to...
