    For parity RAID, a good hardware controller blows away SS. However, 2012R2's SSD write-back cache (and tiering) seems to make a huge difference.

    I have suspicions that a lot of these numbers drive manufacturers put on spec sheets are just made up. If a spec sheet's 10^14 unrecoverable bit error rate is accurate, we would have problems reading data on average once every 12.5TB. That's about three passes of the largest drive available...

    I'm not a huge fan of the new MaxView system due to its overall clunkiness, but I'm glad to know it's being actively developed. It's a minor gripe, as I rarely need to go back into the GUI once things are set up. As for the 71605Q, my setup has been working very well after some help with support.
