    You have 2 sets of RAM. Have you tried running with 2x 2GB RAM in slots 0 & 1? Then the other 2x 2 GB RAM in slots 0 & 1? If there's a bad stick, one config will work and the other fail. If it's 2 bad sticks, in each set, you'll need to try the AB & BA combinations to ferret them out.

    I run my Slimline with 2 HDDs and added video card for days on end, without issue. Typically, the HDDs are off (Energy Save), along with the screens, but when I check on it, it's doing fine.

    If you're doing 3-D renders, with the anticipation of upgrading GPU & PSU, why are getting a SFF PC in the first place? The Slimline is for light duty work, due to the SFF PSU and requirement for LP GPUs.

    I see that ATI Radeon HD5xxx cards are available as low profile (2-slot) config. I'm sure they're somewhat faster, depending on what you're doing. Not sure that they'd be worth an upgrade from a HD4550, tho.

    napster - you sure it's not the PSU that's gone bad? As you've got multiple PCs, have you tried powering the slimline with a "known good" PSU from outside the case?
