    Q9450 is apparently available at Microcenter... I guess

    I bought a Q9450 (OEM) in store on Saturday for $350 and a Q6600 G0 (retail) on Sunday for $199. Availability was better than I could have dreamed. They seemed to have plenty and the salesguys, when asked, had no sense of people rushing in to buy them up.

    Confirmed: Q9450 not fully compatible with ASUS P5K and others

    Asus website be damned. I tried the latest BIOS on my P5W DH (the one listed there). It simply does NOT work properly. The lowest manual VCORE setting they offer in the 2704 bios is 1.45 Volts. READ THE ASUS FORUMS for a particular mobo, especially the 975X chipset ones like the P5W... they...

    My Q9450 didn't work out too well in my Asus P5W DH Deluxe... I could only underclock it as the voltages in the manual settings didn't permit any vcores under 1.45V.

    Asus P5W DH Deluxe & Q9450 / Q6600

    So, I have an old school Asus P5W DH Deluxe (2 of them actually) and have some overclocking questions.... in general I wonder if its the mobo that's keeping me from the stratospheric OC's I see others getting or if it's just luck of the draw... First a word of caution to other P5W DH owners...
