    Holy crap. Never had that issue. Hundreds of SQL servers. Various backup products. What are your hard numbers for transactions, changed data? I'm assuming you have dedicated volumes for data types?

    Its really up to you. You could set the drive as offline and pass through to vm., part of the value of virtual guests are easy manipulation of the vhds. You could just leave as thin provisioned and then move to a bigger his when you get one

    I've found running with an SD is perfect for a home box. Why waste a drive that's unnecessary? If you were at the bootloader odds are the cstate/processor performance wasn't at a lower level causing increased power usage/fan rpm. I've found it can take a whilw. But you will get the hairdryer...

    If you remove the iscsi port binding what happens? Its been a while since I dealt with standard switches and iscsi. I don't think they handle traffic any differently. Just curious even with a flat network why not subnet off your iacsi traffic?

    Windows Server 2012 with vCenter Server 5.5

    I've installed and upgraded vCenter 5.5 and 5.5u1 on both 2012 and 2012 R2 without major issues now. Zero issues with U1 and 2012 R2 now. It works fine :)
