Do all Wolfdale based CPUs have faulty temperature sensors?

According to the bios my idle temp is around 26-27 degrees celcius while Realtemp reports it at 35-36. Not sure which one is right but I've been running my E7200 at 3.2ghz for a couple weeks now with the stock cooler and the highest I've seen it reach is 54 celcius under load according to...

    E7200? Input.

Agreed. I bumped mine up to 3.16ghz with absolutely no effort and its running great with the stock cooler. I could go higher but really don't need to since this is a major improvement over my Opteron 165. If you're on a budget this is the processor to get.

    Post your Unigine benchmark results

Don't know why but everytime I try to change resolution it freezes up on me. Oh well, pretty neat looking demo.

Colin McRae: Dirt demo HD benchmarks

I've been playing this demo a lot and I'm using 1280x1024, 2xAA, Ultra settings and its perfectly playable. The framerate stays in the 30-35 area with an occasional dip into the upper twenties, but since it does use motion blur really well you don't even notice.

Bought an 8800GTS 640mb and plan on using it for a while.

    Venice 3000+ and 7800GTX, bottleneck ?

With your processor at 2.6ghz theres hardly a bottleneck. Not sure whats going on but you should be getting higher framerates than that. But when you say all settings maxed, are you talking about AA and AF also?

    Holy Cr@p!

Congrats on your purchase. I went from a 7600GT to 8800GTS and the difference is mind blowing. I installed Splinter Cell Chaos Theory today just to see how well I could run it now compared to my old card. Previously I was running at 1024x768, SM 3.0, and 4xAF. Now I'm running it at a...

    Help! Should I buy a 7600GT?

I bought a 7600GT when they were first released and it played all the games you listed perfectly fine. However it was starting to show its age in some more demanding games.

I've only played the demo but it worked fine for me using the 158.22 drivers.

No games to justify an upgrade?

Well I went from a 7600GT (which was starting to show its age in lots of games) to an 8800GTS 640mb. For me its one of the most significant upgrades I've ever done. For example: In Tiger Woods 2007 the best I could do on my 7600GT was 1024x768, 2xAA, 8xAF, with a combination of high/medium...
