Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just wanted to update. Thanks to mattsaccount for the tiger direct link.
I wasn't able to convince my PI to buy a 3960X so we waited for more 3930ks to come back in stock. We ended up ordering it from tiger direct.
The 3930k FINALLY arrived. It's a C2. Praise jesus
Man, your old build was very similar to mine...
Was the ram D9GMH? I got 2gigs of that stuff back in 06' and it set me back like ~350. Crazy how far ram has come.
I'm a grad student at GT and this comp is for my office. Parts are ordered through SCW.com... Some select parts can be ordered elsewhere but most have to be ordered through scw for some bureaucratic reasons which I don't care to find out more about. Plus SCW said intel told them the 3930k would...
Bought all the parts for my rig 70 days ago...
Parts have depreciated in about ~170 dollars since I purchased them...
Now being forced to spend an extra 450 dollars on a 3960x...
Thank you intel!
Wow, just got this in an e-mail from scw:
"Unfortunately according to our distribution center Intel has actually pushed back their delivery and they are giving us an estimated delivery of March 24th at this time."
Placed the order for all the original parts on 12/8/2011. Pretty crazy...
Damn,
Not to add fuel to the fire but according to this article, I figured stores would be in stock relatively quick. Especially since the article mentions that they have already delivered some samples...
I might just fall into Intel's ploy and bite the bullet on the 3960x...
Dude, I literally have a brand new comp (2x580 GTX, asus pro mobo, H80, nice corsair case, 16gb ram, 850W TX psu, 256gb SSD) just sitting next to my desk. Everything is assembled but I'm missing the CPU. Very frustrating... I thought they were supposed to start shipping the C2 stepping 3930k...
Read an article that C2's were gonna be shipping on Jan 20th. Does anyone know of any updates? I've looked for news regarding the issue but haven't found anything. Thanks,
-J
I'll keep this in mind. Thinking about it, I don't think SSD is really necessary for this project since most of the speed will need to come from communication with the RAM. Maybe I'll get two regular HDDs and just raid 1. I'll think about it. Thanks,
-Justin
