I'm running Napp-it 0.8 without problems, should I follow the rule of "if it's not broken, don't upgrade ?" or is it relatively riskfree to upgrade to 0.9 ?
Has anybody got VAAI working with Comstar and NAPP-IT ?
THANKS !! Will you be starting a FAQ or Wiki type of FAQ so that answers don't have to be repeated. While your quickstart is great, I find that there are things that we need that are already there in your GUI but we are just not finding it.
The challenge is that I want to have a text base for 1 reason, when I use the text base and when I use the NAPP-IT web gui, I can see the commands sent by NAPP-IT and that helps me.. so that's the MAIN reason and if I can get that back, I'll be real happy !!
How do I find out if I've install OI in server mode (with desktop) or workstation mode ?
When I install OI in server/text mode, I can see commands appearing at the shell on I use the Web-Gui, but I cannot see that currently...
I'm using OpenIndiana 151a3 (desktop) and NAPP-IT. I've multiple (5) Network interfaces and I've tried creating FCoE interfaces. Every time I reboot the FCoE interfaces would disappear. Is this something to do with NWAM or the fact that I'm using desktop rather than server ? I wanted...
I have a Qlogic 4 port FC card and one of the port is complainting firmware error. I can see 4 ports but 1 of the ports show the firmware version as NA. Anybody know if there is a way to fix this ?
I'm running comstar with openindiana and the problem occurs after a fault..
OK, Thanks to all who replied. I've testing with a small box. 6 disk in 3x mirrors in vdev. Right now, I'm hitting deduplication rations of 22x to 24x . Yes, this is pretty much test environment. But on to my next point. A 40GB file will takes approx 10 mins to complete copying.
Will test and...
Just want to say THANKS and it works great. Not sure the benefit though as the performance seems the same and I could only select the first disk as the bootdisk. Exactly the same as the IR firmware. It hang when I attempt to login to the IR firmware.
Not necessarily. It could be the TOE implementation on the specific NIC that cut across different OS. It could be on either side of the coin, no easy solution, my bet would be to google "network performance" + your NIC model, and hope someone encounter a similar problem..
Couple of minor problem with Nappit 0.7l comstar so far.
1. iSCSI target created successfully but when I attempt to delete or edit it, nappit said no iSCSI target found. I managed to delete it manually using the following commands.
And I assume that you have run deduplication with my exact mix of VMs ? Why bother discussing if we are all going to be running SSD. 12 SSD is not exactly equal to 160 SSD. I would consider running 12 SSD as a read cache and in fact that's what I plan to do, but my specific question was more on...
