Here is a breakthrough; vga mode 1024x768 does not produce flicker nore does 1280x768 only 1360x768 produces flicker. What does this mean?

How do I use my dvi as primary. I tried many settings but none produce a signal out of the dvi port.

I did uninstall quicktime. I downloaded the .mov file and played it in quicktime alternative, result being 12fps.

I am very picky when it comes to codecs and installing them. I originally only had the fddshow codec pack installed
