Just want to mention.... I was just looking at the listing and noticed that these L5639 processors might be better than the L5640 ES for power consumption and overclockability. The TDP on the L5639 is 20W lower than the L5640 ES (Q3NC).
I was just using an i7 920 with my DDR3 memory rated at 1.9V... but the rep you spoke to could have been right. I just looked it up and realized that even though it was rated at 1.9V, my motherboard still had it set to 1.5V.
Actually, a 5.1 surround sound system might be possible early next year (after moving to a new house with much more space for my system). I could wait until then if I had to.
Anyway, I still want to look into a better 2.0 speaker set for under $350.
Gaming is not important enough to...
If you plan on doing a lot of gaming on the computer and have the budget for it, go for the 1GB card. The difference between it and the 768MB version is small, but it will be worth it if you do a lot of gaming.
Yes, I guess the 2,700MHz wasn't very relevant. It does show that the RAM can be pretty stable though. For more down-to-earth speeds such as 1,800 - 2,000MHz, it should be fine.
I would like to keep the price below $350, but I am limited with desk space (my family wants me to keep my entire computer setup confined to my desk). In other words, the smaller the better - even if there is a huge price premium. I am in a large room and I use the PC for music (a lot of...
Thanks for the response. I guess I'll use the X-Fi Titanium Pro.
Does anyone know of any 2.0 speakers that have better audio fidelity than my current set? I don't need any more bass for my system and don't want to deal with the largeness of a surround sound system (unless it really is that...
As far as I know, it is almost impossible to know if it is genuine before purchase depending on where you buy it from. If you want to make sure it is genuine, stay away from sites such as eBay or Amazon. You should buy from an authorized retailer such as Newegg or TigerDirect.
The chances of it being incompatible are near zip. I have built dozens of computers with memory not found on the QVL (most of them actually worked). I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
You always benefit from faster memory - in almost anything you do on your computer. The catch is that there is usually no noticeable difference. The only good reason for upgrading your memory to a higher frequency is so that you can overclock your CPU further.
Also remember that the...
