Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

Well I usually play in windowed mode/borderless so in that case I think it uses the GTX because I tried as a test to run Mad Max in borderless with everything at max and it runs at 60FPS. But as I said that monitor I will keep mostly for PDFs, Email or browsing when I work. I would keep a game...

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

I think you guys might be geniuses :D. I never knew/realized that I need to activate the IGPU. In my mind it made no sense, of course my tech level is below average. So now both cards will be used and when I launch a game or do something like rendering it will auto switch between IGPU and GTX...

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

I would like to run anything and everything on this monitor :). So what you are saying is that I should activate my onboard video card? Why? :)

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

But how did we reach the conclusion that it is broken? :p When plugged in the USB-C of the Asus motherboard it works. Of course with the error "Try improving the USB connection. DisplayPort connection might not work. Try using a different cable". I also tried to connect it directly to my...

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

I tried with the included cable, a cable from my wife's Nexus 5x and a Thunderbolt 3 2m cable that I bought from Plugable. Also I am writing emails with Asus support, but as we all know it is somewhat lackluster, usually I get more help from people like you and me than from support.

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

Thanks for your replies! With the included adapter for some reason it slows down only some times. There are times when if I drag a game on the monitor, it runs at 60FPS and some times when it goes at around 30, and the whole system feels somewhat laggy. With the direct connection on the Asus...

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

Thanks for the reply, I know that thread, that's one of the reasons why I posted this here :). Fortunately/unfortunately, the new Gigabyte has Thunderbolt 3 so it doesn't relate directly to that thread.

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

Ok so I've got an update :). I got me the Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Gaming 7 motherboard, it comes with Thunderbolt 3 (".... This incredible increase in bandwidth is also accompanied with support for different protocols such as DisplayPort 1.2 and USB 3.1, which is backwards compatible with USB 3.0 and...

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

Thanks for you reply! That's what I was also thinking but seeing how Asus brags that it also works with Type-A I would guess it doesn't need Thunderbolt? :) "It features an innovative hybrid-signal solution with native support for USB Type-C™ (USB-C™) connections, and uses an installed driver...

Asus MB16AC using the USB-C from the Motherboard

Hey guys, I was really impressed when Asus showed us the MB16AC and I wanted it from the moment it was announced. I have a dual monitor set-up and the small monitor seemed like a perfect fit to sit between and under my 2 monitors. I am doing a lot of video editing and keeping emails, or...
