Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

Just playing around.
If you press and hold plus, minus and then auto you can adjust the brightness by pressing plus or minus after you see the letters on the screen.
You can also adjust the contrast the same way by pressing minus, plus and then auto.
Not exactly sure what this is for...
I went through 6 of these LCDs and all of the ones with a manufacture date of August 2007 had a much darker image than the ones with a July 2007 date. I kept 3 of them.
Also , while the LCD is on, press and hold the plus and minus button and then press the auto button. A code should appear on...
No water setup yet. I dropped my vcore down to 1.3 and I'm currently running it at 2.7GHz stable. My temps are holding me back I think. I'm running mine in an DFI NF4 Ultra-D w/ an XP-120.
hmm.. Orthos fails and my vcore is at 1.6.. guess I need water.
Not going to go any higher with the vcore on air. Temps are getting too high.
Going to see what I can do at a lower clock speed.
Wow..I can't believe I'm able to boot into Windows @ 3 GHz on air with this chip.
My vcore is currently @ 1.45. Going to up it some more and see if I can get it
to be more stable. I was about to send this 170 back to Newegg too. I guess not all
LCB9Es are bad...
I will probably get the same performance so I think I'm going to return this 170.
I can already get 2.7 out of my 165.
Anyone w/ a 170 LCB9E get over 2.8?
I Just got a 170 LCB9E 0652 from Newegg. I was hoping to get a CCBBE.
I also have a 165 LCB9E 0636 that can do 2.7 (9X300) @ 1.45.
My question is should I keep my 165 and return the 170 or sell
my 165 and see what the 170 can do.
I have a feeling that the 170 won't be able to get much...
Howry: no, that's w/ an XP-120 and I was wrong about my temps. 55C and 58C (using coretemp) Orthos full load.
I'm getting rid of my 165 and getting a 170. I should get it Monday. I hope I get a decent stepping that can at least reach the same speed and possible more w/ less voltage.
I received the same stepping from Newegg California this past Tuesday. I am able to hit 2.7 @ 1.45v and my load temps are around 50C on air. Ran Orthos for 9hr (cpu + ram). I can go a little higher (2.8-2.9 @1.5v-1.6v) but it's not too stable and my load temps are around 58C-60C. I guess it's...
