Still mostly P4's here. Mostly from Dell. A few Pentiums D's and a few Athlon X2's and Core2's that I put together as low power budget machines. They're really stingy though so I feel like the difference in power draw would be a good reason to get more low end athlons and core2's.
I've got an original crosshair, I could get a Phenom 2, (Say the X3 720) without getting a new motherboard? Right now I've got a Brisbane 3600+ running at 2.8GHz, but it might be holding back my Radeon 4850?
Just got a new Eclipse. Spilled mt dew on it and now the U and Backspace keys stick horribly. I pried those 2 keys off and prodded around with a qtip dipped in rubbing alcohol, but that doesn't help much and they soon go back to sticking just as bad. How do I take the keyboard apart? I tried...
I suppose hot was "in relation to the temperatures of other GPUs, all with stock cooling" It gets hot here during the summer, and I don't know what the wall is with the 4850 before I run into artifacts or crashes. I have a bunch of spare AS5, so maybe playing with the stock cooler is worth a...
I have bought the card (MSI had one bundled with a copy of Grid, couldn't pass that up), and I think I'll probably get either that accelero cooler or another vf900
Well, it is a matter of degree, really. Take the VF900 vs. the Duo Orb for example. They're both all copper, but the VF900 does what it does with significantly less mass.
I had looked at the duo orb but wasn't sure.
Reviews have convinced me that a 4850 is a good budget upgrade for my 8800GTS 320 (anyone want to buy it?), although it runs really hot. What kind of cooler (or cooler reviews) should I be looking at? I don't have a liquid cooling system, so it has to be air, and I prefer something that...
Using rivatuner already actually. I believe it is set to 100% at that temp. I'll check when I get home. Case is a P180, with the fans replaced with SST-120's.
