just a heads up, supermicro boards arent very high quality. they're used generally because they are considerably cheaper than intel boards. i've talked to one of their engineers before and he said that they used the cheapest parts possible and cut costs where ever they can and ya they semisuck.
i dont mean to imply anything, but do you have any idea the SIZE of the advertising contract that antec signed with maximum pc? we're talking in the $100,000+ range.
i seriously do not think that PC power and cooling got any contract from dell.
the only reason why it says dell power supplies on their website is because they are dell compatible meaning that they fit in the specially designed cases that dell designs.
you must be insane if you think that...
nitpicking here, but i checked ocz's press release archive and the release for the powerstream was 6-22. ship date was probably at least a week after that so its only been a little over 5 months
i did a bit of research, and this is a known brand
found this case on the powmax website again. it looks like another rebranded powmax
look under cases -> gamerz cases -> demon black case.
looks the same and both have the part number CPDEM-1
i found the power supply as well
look under...
i have a thermaltake silent purepower from about a year ago, i didnt really put too much stress on it so i dunno how stable it was and how true the rating was, all i know is that it wasnt all that silent even with the fan controller turned all the way down
get the fortron, good power supply for the price, dont get the Ultra X-connect which is just a rebranded Powmax, aka Leadman Electronics
ultra X-connects got small heatsinks and the wires are all over the place, indicating that its not a well thought out design and its made pretty cheaply
dont you say that OCZ is lying every single time someone posts anything about OCZ? anyways this is an Antec vs OCZ thread, nothing to do with PC P&C
and where exactly does it say the OCZ power supplies are rated at 20C
you're pulling facts out of nowhere as well, i dont see it on their...
you're going to blame the motherboard manufacturer because you didnt take the time to actually research about their products before buying it?
that is rather unreasonable
maybe you're right, i dont have any extensive equipment to test it but i have one and it works great. all the technical specs and stuff i get from the reviews out there(which there are quite a few from reputable sites that i can see from ocz's product page) and the spec sheets.
here is a quote from the review
so the review that Ice Czar was quoting says that they didnt calibrate it the best way.
I see you were quick to refute the xtremesystems test on PCP&C
http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1026870799&postcount=684
does that make you a PCP&C rep?
a little bit of research would reveal that the amps on the rails are different between the OCZ power supplies and the ATXPW series
it would also reveal that the amps on the rails match between the OCZ power supplies and the ATXP6 series
you are very mistaken about OCZ's specs
you sould read this: http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/PSUSpec.pdf
note the ripple, regulation, and power/peak power ratings
