I've tinkered with this laptop @ Microcenter and it was pretty damn amazing. Very solid design..doesn't feel cheap like most other Acers. The screen is massive at 18.4" but looks great. Overall a great buy IMO.
I'm actually quite happy with my 9800GTX+ performance. For the few games that I play once in an odd while it does fine on a single monitor @ 2048x1152 resolution. I'm trying to keep the PC energy efficient and heat expenditure down so figured the 5770 is my best bet considering it outperforms...
I still want opportunity to play some games in future and want at least 5770 power. Should I wait for 6000 series cards and get the 6870? Idk their prices.
I have 3 23" Samsung 2343BWX monitors that run at 2048x1152 resolution each..I can only use two of them with my 9800gtx+ thought. I am considering buying 2x XFX 5770 XXX for $210 from a fellow member in order to run all 3. I might just keep one, sell the other and use displayport cable to feed...
Monitors are about 11lbs each so those arms are fine. Wonder how a dual arm + a single would look on my desk..has anyone done this before? Or would it be better to just run 3 singles?
I was wondering where I could find a CHEAP 3 monitor arm. I have 3 Samsung 2343BWX 23" monitors and the stand take up too much desk space. I want a single arm that holds all three but wish not to spend the ridiculous prices that I see everywhere for these. My budget is somewhere in-between...
Ah for those cards kind of suck. You won't be able to fully enjoy them. I would say at least get a 7800GT, you can find those next to free these days and it was a very good card back in the day.
Hey guys, ok well I asked for advice here some time ago and purchased the Z-5500's and they are not all that great.
Saved some money and decided to get a legit system for my PC.
This is my sound card that I just purchased: HT Omega Claro Plus+...
My friend go a pair of BX5A's last week coupled with a sub. After listening to his system play music then coming home to listen to music on my Z-5500, it's depressing.
Thanks, those are more aesthetically appealing than the rest.
Looking to probably sell my current Z-5500 system and get studio monitors and good sub in near future. Should have taken the advice from others about the "muddy" bass.
Edit: Wish those that you posted where active :S. Not looking...
So true, luckily I only paid $175 for my Z-5500 system. I still feel somewhat ripped off :S
If you live in an apartment building, they are probably worst choice of speakers.
Either way, steer clear of them.
Z-5500 Owner here.
The BX5A's are already internally amplified, the sub has its own plate amp. Even then the z-5500 subwoofer has split-end connectors and uses standard speaker wire, not RCA cables.
