Well, I love corsair products, have always been top notch, I am sure their SSDs are just as good. I'd love one because I'd love to shave seconds off my life everyday.
Here is the ICC profile I use.

This monitor is amazing. It is probably even more amazing coming from a HP w2207 (a TN display). Games continue to work well, and text proves to be quite clear.
What is "hardcore gaming". I am a pretty avid gamer and am perfectly happy. I still plan to enter my local tournaments for CoD and CS.
There is some slight tearing, but only happens during certain movements and structures. Perhaps that is just not suited for the extremely picky.
I just bought and received the NEC EA231WMi. It is plenty fast enough for gaming.
I am by no means the best gamer out there, but I think I'd notice if it were holding me back or if there was annoying ghosting.
Perhaps I'll try to record some of a match with a video camera. Honestly no...
Here is a calibrated profile for the NEC EA231WMi.
Brightness is at 50% and contrast at default levels. Color mode was set to "native".

I just got my EA231WMi, it is wonderful. This is the first non TN monitor I have ever owned. There is definitely a difference.
Honestly 16:9 does not bother me. Plus this monitor works great for gaming. I have done a few rounds of Modern Warfare 2, the majority of which I ended up with the...
Urgh, I really want the W220P. If it is only released in Europe that is a bummer :(. I think the market for monitors with that small of a dot pitch is low. I would absolutely love it though.
Sorry I did not mention that I do use vsync. Tearing isn't as much as a problem as the next not being as fine as I'd like. The large pixels sometimes make it seem really jagged. Hence why I am looking at the L220x. There is a real lack of choice for 22 inch monitors at WUXGA. Hell, even 22 inch...
There really is a lack of good choices for gaming. I would like a non TN panel, but I really hate taring. My current w2207 is really bothering me. The glossy panel really makes colors appear great, but the panel has larger pixels than I'd like, and seems to a tare quite a bit.
A 24 inch monitor...
If there is a noticable jump in quality from 350 to 500-600 and if my finances are in order when my semester of school ends, I would not object to the higher price range.
I only feel slightly guilty spending money on something I absolutely do not need, but want desperately.
Perhaps that is the case. Cleartype works perfectly on my laptop, so I can only conclude that it is the panel design quality. I do also think the lack of great viewing angles hurts it as well. I am quite tall, and I have to sit just right for the text to look readable.
That is one reason I...
The text is not crisp. The pixels are big enough that I see dots occasionally. I do not believe the glossy panel is to blame, as my Laptops screen is also glossy.
Sadly I do think I am in the minority. No one cares about the dot pitch :P.
