    My load temps (with system as detailed in sig and ambient temp ~ 20 C) are 66-60-60-66...and when I was installing the backplate, one of its pins just wouldn't stay in the hole and would keep popping out, so I just went ahead and screwed the thing in and don't even think I screwed it...

    Are you guys happy or regret the cooler you have?

    Tuniq Tower 120, no regrets. The non-led version was a lot cheaper than the TRUE -and- included a fan. OC results as detailed in my sig, with idle temps in the mid 20s-30s and load temps in the mid 50s-60s (load under prime95...doesn't seem to even touch 50 during Crysis/Bioshock/COD4 etc.)

    I <3 my Tuniq. I didn't lap either HSF or CPU, and don't think I screwed it in with even pressure, and I'm getting 66-60-60-66 max temp (cpuid, coretemp) after 24 hours of P95 small FTT w/ 4 threads (0 errors).

    Read the hardocp HSF megareview. Based on it, I only considered the TRUE or Tuniq Tower, the latter of which was around $10+ cheaper and came with a fan. I'm very happy with my results (detailed in sig).

    Failing two P95 tests.

    If you have time to lap the stock cooler just get a TRUE or Tuniq Tower (after making sure they'll fit in your case). Now that you've lapped your cpu you'll need to lap whatever new HSF you get as well, though.

    I've never tried AS5 (it wasn't out last time I built a system, which was 6 years ago), but I just used MX-2 and had no problems. It was like, $1 more than AS5 on newegg or something.

    I went down to +0.15 (showing as 1.95-1.98 in bios health + hwmonitor)...things were stable 24/7... Does your bios/monitoring software still tell you exaggerated voltages?

    Tuniq Tower - need new case

    Tuniq fit fine with my Antec 900...tight fit and the case itself is a bit irritating to work with...I got it for $60 shipped (newegg, still might be same price), though, so can't complain.

    Q6600 temp differences across cores (using Core Temp)

    I was getting 65-65-58-58 (cores 0, 1, 2, 3) initially under load...then started tightening my tuniq's screws more until they were down all the way...which was a huge PITA with it still in the case...anyways, the temps then become 65-58-58-65. The Tuniq's backplate has 4 little pins that fit...

    Well, I now set it at +0.25, and cpuid reports my vdimm as 2.05 (well within my ram's specs)...I'm not even sure I should bother lowering timings on this memory...I was only able to get down to 4-4-5-15 from 5-5-5-15 anyways... so how exactly did you find out your ram was running at 2.24...

    Oh, vcore's affected, too? Maybe that's why cpuid says it's 1.44 even though it's set at 1.46 in the bios...cpuid shows my vdimm at 2.1 (currently set it at +0.3) and my ram' s vdimm is rated at 2.2 +/- 0.05%...so I figured I was ok.
