I am at a similar point, note. I have a 920 with far less ram, but I think I can get into IB for very little cash. Especially since I think I'll go from i7-920 to i5-3570. I just don't see the performance gain at this time in i7-3770. That $100 can go to a lot.
I think in all of this only a couple people have pointed out the lower power consumption and effective heat generation as a result of 22nm process. For me, this was a reason to wait for IB over SB had I been itching for an upgrade anytime in 2012 so far. To me the OC max is being hugely...
Any thoughts on the value of an eVGA SLI X68 with 6GB 1600 Ram, an i7 920 and an EnzoTech HSF would be? I am thinking of making the switch to IB even though the performance seems very similar to my 3.6GHz OC 920, but am curious what my out of pocket would be. I think I would do it if I could...
I purchased a group of these today. They had 4 that had SN ending in L, so I picked up all four. I think my sis' boyfriend is taking one or two.
Edit - I answered my question. And now I know that I will be keeping three of the four 2007s for myself until ATi patches multi-res setups. At...
I have an older Pioneer Plasma 720p. The only downsides to plasma vs LCD that I can think of are the following:
1.) Higher Electrical Consumption. We are talking on a level of a few dollars per year.
2.) Plasmas have a phosphor screen like a traditional television. Unlike DLP and LCD Plasmas...
I just finished my PC build tonight. Gigabytes of data are being downloaded to the new machine now. I have a Dell U2001W on loan from my brother in law while I decide what I want in the way of a monitor. I am definitely looking at this HP and a Dell U3007-HC. I have a nice digital SLR and I...
So, a used 3007Wfp-HC that is guaranteed to be free of dead pixels for $750 is not too far off, right? I am looking for an all-around good display. I will play games on it (SCII, Civ IV and V, WoW, TF2, etc) but I will also do a lot of digital darkroom work and maybe even some video editing...
Thanks for the reply and the link. That was helpful. I look forward to reading your thoughts on this fellow. You seem to have a nice collection of LCDs in your recent history.
I thought I had my mind all made up on a 25.5" 16:10. Now I go and read this.
Hmm.
It is $100 cheaper and 16:10 which I somewhat prefer. But this looks NICE. Anyone have an issue with the DPI/pixel pitch?
