We have a NAS server at the moment running FreeNAS with an athlon 2000+ and it works great.
Personally I would use a USB hub...as I'm not sure if they use a firmware to organize the data
and all you would need is a case and psu...and a 2GB usb pen(to install freenas and have as boot disk)...
looks good...
maybe, I'm not sure how much you use your optical drive...if you rarely(once a week) use it, you can get and 5.25" external case...and make it an USB optical drive, as I have done this "mod"..to keep the case looking sleek and stealthy :D..and then when I need a CD...I have it...
Ok...I already have a Samsung 830 128gb SSD on the way...so I don't need to save up for it...
and I used to have a custom WC'ing loop on my 775 rig..but I sold most of it...but I've still have compression fittings, pump, tube, antikink, and res...
@Tsumi
Yes to all three.. :D
I already...
Ok...
I have a i7 950 and I'm planning on overclocking it...
but should I go custom watercooling or High end air cooler
if I go WC'ing I was thinking of getting a 360mm rad and then a cpu block(as I already have a pump, res, and compression fittings)
or should I go for a Noctua NH D14 or...
I know he didn't say anything about reselling...but if it came to that..so he could upgrade his chip...the K wouldn't lose "as much" value...
but anyway...I have put the 3770 as an option now aswell
I wasn't sure about sound cards that's why I left the gene
Usually most 2.5" SSD drives are the same....but you can always google it or ask before
That Vertex 4 should go well.
I'm not sure about Sata III on that laptop...it should have...but even if it didn't the SSDs are backwards compatible and you'll still get blazingly fast speeds
Personally I would go for at least a 650w on that build..it'll work fine at stock but don't expect to do any OC'ing otherwise you'll overwork the PSU...if you can, get a refund and swap it for a 650w or something
