just spent most of the day last night putting my new rig together..
i connected everything up..and then it was time to switch it on for first time..i did so and at first i tought everythnig was going ok..i could see my four case fans spin up and psu fan as well..i think i heard a...
yeah i know but what if the wrist strap isnt grounded properly :(
im planning on working on tile...barefoot adn cotton tshirt and trousers so hopefully that might bring the chances down of shocking something :)

im planning on getting a wrist strap and then connecting that to a screw that goes into psu...and will probably touch fan grill,screw and case every so often just in case..
if i dont manage to get a strap ill just keep one hand on screw/case etc and maybe quickly...
alri i see...so either attach the aligator clip to a screw on psu, the psu itself or the inside of case once the psu is in it and plugged in but switched off on the back?

yeah i do plan on working in my bare feet and cotton clothes..the table is tile and wood and the floor is tiled so im guessign there wont be many static creators there then?

ive been looking around internet the past few days for tips on how to avoid static when putting your pc together..ive heard alot of different storys and not sure which one would be the best to go with..
for example some people say to plug the powersupply in but turn off at wall...
lol laddys..forgot to mention that im getting a whole new pc along with this monitor..with e6600 processsor,8800gtx,2gb corsair 6400 etc.. :)
be prety crazy for me to have 800x600 on a 22incher lol...

yeah the 226bw is the monitor im gonna be getting..
ye my 17 does have a max res of 1280x1024..but my comp atm cant play games at that res lol..so i gotta play in 800x600.. :(
anyway good ta hear that it will look great anyway..i just tought that 1600x1050 res are more suited to 20...
What would a resolution of 1600x1050 be equivelant of on a 22inch lcd while gaming compared to 17inch monitor ..would it be like having 800x600 res on a 17inch monitor with the text not really sharp and looks blunt or will it be sharper?

shiro ye i was planning on getting it but not sure as i heard it can cause a lot of hassle and want this build to go smoothly since its my first :P ..im also not certain on performance with games etc..think they play alot better with xp...
and besides i dont see any...
i made up a list of components i want to get for my new pc..ill be ordering this later this week..and just looking for opinions on the parts..any forseen problems with all these together? and will the os be in german only or english?
