Awesome, thank you for that info. I wasn't sure on that. So a 20 would be good for 240? that seems low to have as a dedicated pcie 2x6pin plug on?
Now I just need to find out what a 6950 pulls watt wise, ive sen reports of 200 at load and others at 200 at load ;/ Basically I want be sure if...
Ah alright, that's what i'd be usign it for as well as I'm sure you could tell:P How do you ahve it setup, ie in terms of what plugged into which rail? I'm only asking because I know the 'suggested' according ot msi is 30a per 6950, and theres 2 20 and 2 30 rails, and one of those 30 rails is...
I'm also looking at a rosewill and was wondering the same, anyone know anything about the RBR1000-M ? Reviews seem to be great or terrible, so looking for some trusted advice here. It would be powering cpu, mobo, 5400 hdd, 2 6950 and a 280x. Though, I'm not quite sure if it would be able to...
I have a similar question, partially because I don't know how multirail psus work. I'm looking to power a 280x along with 2 6950 2gb cards, they will not be crossfired, the 6959s. I can't remember my CPU and mobo they're older lol
Would a 1000w be sufficient? It's a multirail 2x 20a and 2x...
Hey guys,
i'm not really super tech oriented so sorry if i sound kinda dumb here. I was wondering a few things
1) if a psu is multi 4 rails, 100w total, each rail can only push Xw amount right its not just broken up? The one i got has 2 20a and 2 30a rails.
b) kind of not PSU related...
going to give it a try, i have pretty bad microstutter on my cf 6950s i just installed (2gb cards, i7-930 stock w/ ht enabled)
will post back with results
we hope..:P it only ran the beta at about that, which didnt include ultra settings, but with optimization and new drivers im keeping my fingers crossed!
i actually just looked at 2 bf3 beta benchmarks, and a 2gb 6950 was about 30fps on 'ultra' at 1920x... but we all know ultra isn't ultra seeing as dice didn't include ultra or all of the high settings and related in the beta ( i too was wondering, i just got 2 6950 2gb cards a while ago).. so...
glad you made a choice! I just picked up(well, waiting to ship) 2 2gb 6950s for bf3. One thing i want to point out, is for everyoen who says bf3 runs great on high/ultra on your current card, the beta did not actually include the ultra, or all the high settings, so you were never playing it on...
those are about the prices, give or take, what i thought they would end up at. So, i'll just go with that for now and bite the bullet and grab 2 6950s when i find them at a good price.
Thanks for all the help guys!
1680 x 1050 (older monitor). It can run ti decently right now, but i want to crank it up. I literally don't use that computer other then for bf3. I purposely got an i7 930, mobo, 12gb ran and psu for bf3 seeing as i don't upgrade.. ever.. i use macs for work. While the 5870 played the beta...
so all in all, the 7XXX will be more at launch then 6970s were at launch (though outpreform them). So if i can find a decent price on a pair, or 1 at a time, 2gx 6950 it's worth it from a 5870 and jsut try to unload them cheap when 7s come out in 4-6 months
i've checked kijiji and ebay.ca for a bit and can't find anything decent - most ebay listings that ship to canada are listed at like 250-275 + shipping.. the cards are roughly 260/ here + 10 shipping! lol If i find a fair deal on used ones i'd grab them for sure. time to check to see if anyone...
