I get a cpu score of 4971 under vista 64.
running the Q6600 @3.6
2gigs of crucial@800mhz
8800GTS
total score is 12563
my cpu score under XP is 5571
and total score is 13235
hmm, I would have to flash it and then flash it back so I dont run the card that speed all the time.
I amd just trying to figure out why rivatuner is loading down my cpu or not letting all 4 cores work
it runs so fast even under rivatuner, I probably wouldnt and dont notice anything in a game.
the 3dmark score with this single gts is 12850
Im just trying to figure out why the cpu gets such a hit only running rivatuner. I will try other software cpu tests with rivatuner and without.
I have a problem with the 3dmark06 score dropping in the cpu test only, this is if I use rivatuner version 2.04 or 2.05.Even if I leave the shader at sync'd.
This is in both Vista and XP. if I use atitool to overclock, the cpu score jumps back up.
my cpu score with rivatuner: 4895
my cpu...
Yea the drain valve would have been a good idea, but now that everythings done (at least for a while) I will leave it as it is and put the drain on the next upgrade, whatever that will be.
OK,
Got the Q6600 installed, got the fuzion cpu block installed, got the fusion gpu and the swiftech heatsinks installed on the 8800gts.
max cpu temp with 2 instances of Orthos running is 49 degrees on the highest core. (The rest are 43-45Degrees)
This is with the q6600 running at 3600mhz @...
cpu voltage is 1.38 actual CPU runs at 3485mhz with that voltage have not tried higher yet,
fsb is at 1990mhz
got the fuzion for the cpu, and the Quad core should be here tomorrow.
Also have a gpu fuzion and swiftech heat sinks for the GTS that should be here tomorrow as well.
so far my...
OK I got it together but still using my E6300 (have not get the Q6600 yet), running at 3.2ghz and loading with orthos, the cpu is 45-47c
at idle it is at 39-41c --room temp is 78 Degrees
What do ya think?
:) I used to have an evaporative PVC cooling tower (thats why I still have the Eheim 1250)
boy that thing worked awesome(below ambient). But this time around, I dont want to have to add water so much.
I wish I would have talked to you before buying the Danger Den blocks.(paid $40 for the TDX...
thanks for the reply and the great info!!.
I already have the stuff I listed, but I will slowly replace each unit one by one.
starting with the cpu block. I will see how everything performs and then post the results, then start swaping parts
I saw on a comparison that if I put over 300 gph water through it, the temps will be real close (within 1c)to the fusion. It looked like the fusion did much better with less volume of water though.
how many fans should I use with the heater core?
thanks for the reply
I have an EVGA 680i motherboard
Q6600 G0 cpu-- will buy and overclock-using E6300 now
6800 GTS
For water cooling I am going to use these:
Danger Den DD-TDX Cpu Block
Danger Den DD 680i Northbridge block
Eheim 1250 pump
2-317 (fedco) single pass heater core 10" x 6" x 2" thick (going to mount...
