I can't really say anything meaningful about the UN40KU6290. I have to admit that I am biased towards Sony, (having owned a Sony TV before), and that I prefer IPS panels in general. I think that that the Samsung is not an IPS panel - but VA . Curved monitors are expensive and you don't have... -

It depends on what platform you are on. With Windows 7/10 it's not a problem to run a BGR monitor. However, Mac does not support it. Which is a shame, particurlarly if you want to use font smoothing. (anti-aliasing). Which you might want, since the PPI for these 40 inch monitors is quite low... -

@ Panel: With PC monitors the subpixel layout is almost always RGB. However, TVs are different. Just pick any popular 40 inch model on RTGINS.com, like the Sony X830C and check in what order the pixels are. With the exception of the Samsung JU6400, all 40 inch screens I have come across are BGR. -

After reading this topic, I started researching all the TVs and Korean panels again, and again I came to conclusion that I need to wait. Color shifting and PWM all seems horrible to me. Also, main folks are using these Korean panels for gaming which is quite different from what I do everyday... -

@ Jedibeeftrix I also find it quite expensive at 750 pounds. Compared to the stuff we have been seeing from Korea, 750 is a lot of money. You also have to ask yourself if the curved screen is really a benefit or not. However, if prices were to come down to say 500-600 euro instead of 900 euro... -

Psycrow: I have the same screen size, same res. And I always zoom in when I'm using chrome. So yes, I agree. It's too small by default. I use the bigger Windows 7 task bar. With large icons. Not the classic look.
