    FS: Complete FTP setup....1TB

Upgraded my setup to the LSI for 2TB of space (STILL need to OCE ) and all is well for the last week. Now, I'm getting rid of my 'old/slow'-ness :) Up for sale: 3Ware 6000 series 8-port RAID5 capable card (long card), latest firmware (5) 250GB Maxtor HDs (max size the card can take)...

    LSI00051 question

From what I've been reading, the expanders are quite cheap. Most I've been have been 'slot-cover hubs' for external use; but a few have been for internal

    LSI RAID controller cables

Got the same thing myself. I used the GUI program to setup my array. NP :D Even has a little wizard program in each to help ya! Quite nice if I can get the Write-through to stop being the 'fall-back default' since I don't have a BBU  I'm personally going to skip the...

Here's a simple one I hope....2TB now, mostly repository but it's also my FTP (lots of Emulator stuffs mostly). What would a good stripe size be? Think I got it @ 128 instead of the default 64  WORST case, big files I break up into 50MB RAR parts. EDIT: Think I found my issue so...

I ran a quickie this morning...not much better. Pretty sure I gotta tweak the setting a bunch more. Wonder if the write-back (no BBU) is set UNLESS you have the BBU  Already got a way in through the firewall (love Smoothwall :D ) Doesn't work so well when you're BT'ing...

You're prob. right, just antsy ;) I'll post some more runs after tomorrow....Maybe see if I can take an 'extended' lunch tomorrow to do some playing :p Oh, no built in LEDS/etc. for the drives; but it DOES have a few headers. If I can get creative w/ some old headers & a soldering irons ;)...

    Raid 5 bigger then 2tb?

Don't think I'd have an issue if it was one of the nVidia onboards. Board I'll BE using has the RealTek GB  But even still; an Intel PCI-e or the nVidia onboard....I'd be hard pressed NOT to use the Intel :D

    Raid 5 bigger then 2tb?

Hard enough finding a decent, STABLE MB w/ all the bells/whistles on a budget :D (onboard video, GB NIC, AND PCI-e slotS for the RAID card) In my case, it's a fileserver 1st, DC 2nd....I already have 2 'servers'; so still floating the idea of migrating my dual-PIII sys. or just using this to...

    Raid 5 bigger then 2tb?

I hadn't thought of that before....Nice ;) . 16x lane [max 8.5GB/s] for the RAID card (yeah, only 4x or 8x lane used); and a 1x for the PCI-e NIC [using the 'full' 2.5GB].... Wonder how well the HD's WILL be able to keep up w/ a single request :D TD has the Intel model fairly decetly
