Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Though the storyline is non-existant, the overwhelming variety of death still makes the text graphics game "nethack" a winner. Starving to death and fainting? You could pray but your God might be cranky...
I thought Psychonauts was great, if short of epic. Same creator as Grim Fandango...
The replacement for the PSP I RMAed is S05110077XXX. No A3 on the barcode but it is working fine on my asus a8n-sli. ASUS pc probe complained about the 5v level when I had the pcie plugged into the far right opening #5 (away from the 12V lines) but it is much more stable when plugged into...
Someone up there mentioned itunes -- are you setting the affinity of itunes such that it doesn't crash when you're ripping cds? I had crashes until I found an apple faq that you need to set the processor affinity for the itunes process.
(there was an itunes update today (1/20), but I haven't...
someone with one that doesn't work, needs to swap with someone who has one that does work and check that its not the computer.

I get a hiss or hum through the headphones that seems to be due to the evga 7800gt video card (when I run rthdribl for example the noise crackles).
the onboard audio is right next to the pcie #1 slot.
anyone else have this problem?

there are two ether ports -- the nvidia and the marvell. the nvidia one is on the bottom -- furthest away from the cpu.
afaicr, the nvidia port only came on after I installed the nvidia drivers from the cd, windows knew about the marvell lan (and d/l the drivers) once I was able to run...
Throughput was as given by sftp or ttcp, I doublechecked it by looking at netstat -b output on the freebsd box and the results were close enough.

Netconfig is through an ABS 100baseT switch, but I did one sftp p-to-p...
Did you try the suggested fix of having your pci-e power connectors come from the far left and far right of the powersupply plugins? Just because you've GT and not GTX doesn't mean that you're not pulling too much current from a single 12v rail.
Sorry to distract from the namecalling, but I wonder if you other X2 users are able to run 2 copies of the super pi / mod1.4 simultaneously?
I can run 1 np, but if I try to run 2 the second one errors out immediately.
I've done some tests of networking my new a8n-sli premium mb to an existing unix box. I was getting some pretty crappy xfer rates using sftp so I downloaded ttcp to test from/to values. This is on a 100baseT net. CPU usage stayed below 10%.
With sftp (cygwin build), I am seeing ~3.4 MB/s...
