the fan adapter uses tiny wires, ugly.
this looks better.
this powers the 8 hdd unit complete with a socket for the PSU plug to unplug.
molex plug at the socket end needs the wire needs major bending around the SATA wire right in its middle.
not soldered in this, just heatshrink to show the...
the intake 120mm, and middle 140mm were just sitting no mounting.
so I used four 50mm, 3mm screws to create a nice solid mount to them to the CPU cooler.
No Tools required.
the Noctua 120 and 140 uses the (120) same screw holes.
so having the two screws pointed each has about 12 threads meshing...
power wires for HDDs use a LOT sockets.
so use ONLY the minimum of sockets and wire length.
this Fan splitter gives 5 sockets for HDDs using 1 Sata socket.
(correct sata plugs need to be soldered for this concept.)
just right for the 12 Hdds of the N5.
I found a 6 Sata plug wire with a Sata...
the front hdds fans ready to unplug the power wires, allowing the inner fan mount to be pulled, accessing to the 12 HDDs.
there is enough room to run fan a wire from the 2 bottom fans to the 2 top fans with no metal cutting.
three 120 Noctuas as exhaust, all 3 external mounted.
the single 140 CPU fan runs this other 3,same 3 splitter setup.
the 850 seasonic PSU is spaced 1" out, to add space to power plugs inside.
the botton fans unplug with 1 plug, to access to the 4 2.4" hdds inside.
the twin fans DO have the...
four 140 Noctua intakes.
the bottom 2 are removable, the bottom still requires a plate to block the holes, and mount the USB sockets.
the stock start button remains in the center.
all 4 intakes are plugged to one motherboard fan outport, using 3 noctua two into plug fan splitters. (I Like those...
the N5 has 8 lights for 8 HDDs, but I have 27 hdds so far I can run in it.
leaving 19 hdds with NO lights (the 4 hdd at the front has leds INSIDE)
so I am looking for how to get LEDs from basic HDDs.
like the 8 drive, and 4, has leds from individual drive plugs.
8-4-4 burfcation in a pcie5 x16 allows,
a 5060 mini plugged into a dual ssd device.
I bought two 4tb Samsung Pro 990 @ $260 each right the price freaked to $770 each,
so I can have pcie4 8tb ssd added to the 5060 with 8gb.
the lower case box is too small for a standard 3D spool, however it WILL fit 7 harddrives with enough room for airflow.
the wiring is crowded using standard plugs, so wiring to fit as needed looks good.
