Meh I'm not gonna bother. I tested it a few times by putting the OCZ RAM in different slots with either stick and it always failed.
Then I tried the GSkill and it always worked.
So either way I got the extra GSkill lying around and I'll get rid of the OCZ (warranty it then resell).
Well here's the verdict:
1) I feel like such a newb.
2) It was the RAM.
Strangely enough the RAM works fine in my other computer but not in this one.
Just one question is bugging me. Why is it the RAM had problems months ago then it suddenly works fine for about 3 months then it...
It has a 700 Watt OCZ PSU. The first time it happened, I tried my other OCZ 900W ModXstream and I got the same problem.
Yeah I'll be trying to strip it down and do the usual tonight or tomorrow morning.
Specs:
700 Watt OCZ PSU
Intel Core 2 (around 2.33 Ghz?) - can't remember atm.
OCZ...
Thanks but I don't think it is the home wiring as my other computer is just fine and it uses alot more juice.
Aye aye cap'n! ;) Was planning that anyway, just wanted any other suggestions.
I have a really strange problem and I'm just stuck. I'll summarize to make this an easier read.
MAIN ISSUE: It turns on. The DVD spins up and fans spin up and then after 3-5 seconds, it shuts down and restarts itself. Nothing shows on the LCD. No boot message. No POST beep.
A Few Months...
The why is because of the enormous amounts of data being generated by the LHC and then that data has to be shared out to the various Universities and Institutions simultaneously.
Simply put, there was no other way to do it.
As per Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LHC_Computing_Grid...
Ah okay, then. The internal drives are for frequent automated backups.
I have an external drive for manual/less frequent backups.
Plus if it's possible, I want to sync the internal HD backup data on the storage drive on another comp I have (for redundancy).
Thanks for the info!
Cool, sounds about what I need. And yes it's PCI Express I need (x1 or x4 is fine).
Well I don't mind the risk of RAID 0 as long as I setup a automated imaging of the drives to the RAID 1 set.
I'm going on the assumption that a RAID 0 is faster than a RAID 10 setup.
Also in RAID 10, all 4...
Looking for a RAID card that is below $100 (either 2 port OR a 4 port) and I pretty much know squat about who's good and who's generic crap.
I have 4 HDs (all SATA 3Gbps) and I want to either do:
A) RAID 0 with 2 on the RAID card Only
RAID 1 with 2 on the ICH9R chipset OR on the RAID...
