Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think it's swings and roundabouts really. Laser cutting & then bending is around a similar cost all in (over here anyway.)
If the idea takes off (100+) I was hoping to make it work by
>buying a 2nd hand cnc machine,
>factor in average depreciation over the period (plus end mill bits etc)...
Evening all,
Just a quick update. A friend of mine has kindly offered to run a few prototypes off (for beer) on his cnc machine. This does seem to be a smarter way to go for the low volume case as your not at the mercy of companies bending capabilities / accuracies. This way you get the same...
Is it painted by any chance? Or Anodized?
Favorite trick in the electrical world was to connect an earth up without scratching the paint off. Therefore no earth...
I think the OP was thinking more along the lines of if the ground wasn't connected at all, then yes the case would pull up to mains voltage if the psu failed in such a way that the incoming supply came into contact with the chassis.
PC PSU's and Cases essentially fall under PELV (Protected...
As i'm waiting for some components to land from china and i'm bored,
A quick question:
Version 2 is modular (width ways anyway)
As a first prototype would you want to see a case thats:
A) 405 x 275 x 56 (W x D x H) GPU 270mm + Multiple 2.5" HDD
B) 340 x 275 x 56 (W x D x H) ITX Gpu...
Remember it's not been anodised yet, think it will look a lot sharper then.
Personally I think this is excellent and shows what some smart thinking can achieve!
This is a case obviously designed around a specific board, hence no rectangular IO cutout, so not sure the point of...
I think you've hit it wahaha, the problem with the collective is (as proven over the last page or so) that everyone has their own way and ideas, which when it comes to engineering is a messy endeavor.
The collective as it's self is not a bad idea, but maybe the application of it needs to be...
My only worry with the user changeable lid would be the grounding arrangements. from personal experience if your unlucky enough to have a model which you need to undo the ground to take the lid off and forget to put it back on, you (or whatever it touches) becomes the ground path.
You really...
Looks promising from the specs, just noticed fsp do a 270w fanless 1u so I would hope that the theory of operation has carried over and this one doesn't spool it's fan until then.
Fairly reasonable for Platinum. Golds at 400w with pcie are are around $75.
On mobile at the moment so will check the datasheets when I get back.
Any certs for Platinum, some do tend to drift out when lightly loaded which makes the Platinum thing a bit pointless.
I assume this has smart fan...
Think I'm the only one developing cases solely around this form factor Seeing as everyone else is doing sfx.
The trick is to go oversize with wattage and go for high efficiency As the best way to keep the fan quiet is to not let it spin. Platinum would be a good candidate for this so I'm in...
