    +1.

What CPU intensive task do you use?

I use Autodesk Autocad 2012 Professional, Autodesk Inventor 2012 Professional, Autodesk Maya 2011, SolidWorks. I also do some encoding transcoding of videos and occasionally game with EVE or Civ 4/5.

    Ask AMD about Bulldozer

Why are the integer operation benchmarks so low compared to even previous AMD 4 cores? Is there some sort of bug or cache thrashing that is preventing all 8 integer cores on the 81xx series chips from running at maximum performance.

Registry fix may add %40 more performance to Bulldozer!

No doubt about it. And I think BD is the result of lagging sales over the years. Automated design, loss of fab control and changeover in the engineering department. The llano and bobcat and radeon designs all seem to be doing great and have solid engineering behind them. I think BD will...

Registry fix may add %40 more performance to Bulldozer!

Isn't that what's been happening in the marketplace and forums for about 5 years now? This BD hate reminds me of the Barcelona hate. Barcelona eventually became the "noob friendly" chip to recommend due to the bang/buck factor. I've owned some crappy chips in my day. I still have a 3.4...

Registry fix may add %40 more performance to Bulldozer!

Really, for my workloads in Solidworks and Inventor a BD isn't really crap and could cut my render times way down. So except for the high power draw under 100% load, which I honestly don't see ever happening on my thurban rig now when I hit render, I consider the BD to be a nice upgrade for my...

Registry fix may add %40 more performance to Bulldozer!

I don't know about you, but I'm rooting for the underdog in this scenario. The underdog gave us the Atholon XP. 64bit computing and MOAR CORES!!!!!! The CPU world already looks pretty bleak with TI(Cyrix) and VIA forced out of the mainstream CPU market. Hell, I'll probably buy a bulldozer...

Registry fix may add %40 more performance to Bulldozer!

+1 It's getting borderline psychotic how some people are reacting to Bulldozer's desktop release.

    AMD Responds

If i had the tools and liscences.... I don't know exactly how much it would or could help games to have the integer cores run XOP instead of X86 but it would have to be better than what it's doing now.

    AMD Responds

Bulldozer, Optimized for XOP and FMA4. Big difference. Once software starts to be recompiled with new instruction sets, I think we'll see a huge difference. But the problem now lies with the software people and that's not a smart move on AMD's part.

    AMD Responds

The amazing power of AMD Bulldozer’s architecture can be seen here only. The new Bulldozer architecture enables ISAS, which Core i7 2600K lacks. AMD Bulldozer FX 8150 performs 56X times faster than Core i7 2600K in OCL Perf Mandelbrot. Thereby AMD Bulldozer with its FMA4 and XOP can accelerate...

AMD Bulldozer expected for Oct release.

Tigerdirect has the Asus Sabertooth with a FX 6100 listed amongst their combo's for a nice price of $379.99. It lists as in stock. I don't know if it would ship today if you ordered it and I'm waiting on the 8150 to list anyways. But if you want to drool...

So how have the delays in BD affected AMD's bottom line with your purchases recently?

BD being late has had no effect on my purchases. Well, I now have most parts and pieces for a nice AM3+ system so I might move my 1055T over for a while just to use the usb 3.0. Although my current Intel and AMD systems are not that up to date, they don't cause me any anguish or rush to...
