The motion clarity on my 480hz PG32UCDP is unreal. I never used BFI much on the CX because it dimmed the screen a lot, which I found quite distracting.
On QD-OLED, the raised black is a thing but it's nowhere near as bad as IPS. I'd say it's not even really noticeable day to day unless you're...
Any thoughts on the LG G5? S95F isn't available here yet, and G5 is 400 off deal atm (so £1999 vs £2499 for S95F at release). They both seem pretty similar, so go cheaper?
Ok I'm convinced, I'm gonna buy one. Just gotta wait for stock in the UK! Will stick it on a stand next to my desk for controller gaming with some speakers, and leave the PG32UCDP for productivity+FPS. Best of both worlds.
I'm one of the freaks that actually liked 48cx a lot for productivity. It's like having two portrait monitors next to each other. Only issue is the text fringing which is obviously much better on the newer woled 32". Personally I don't really like ultrawide for anything, except FPS. It's bad...
S95F does look fantastic. For my desk though, I think 42" is the limit. My only issue with 48CX really was it was just slightly too large to be comfortable, so 55 would not really work for me unless I figure out a different mounting system.
edit: Hmm you're tempting me. I love good HDR. Maybe I...
Yes the C5 looks fantastic, I am seriously thinking about it.
If Asus bothered to fix their broken ass firmware, I might feel better about keeping it. I got spoiled by LG's insane firmware team, still releasing updates to the CX to this day.
Curious what people are using nowadays. I honestly kind of regret swapping my 48CX with PG32UCDP. 48CX had me smiling every time I gamed on it - immersive, great HDR, great colors after calibration. PG32UCDP in contrast has a weird broken HDR curve, gamma curve/black level issues, and feels...
I should have phrased it better. I was comparing specifically to the prior founder editions.
I think AIBs are still a better design compared to the 5090FE though, as they exhaust outwards into the case rather than directly into the CPU tower.
I'm running this all in an Ncase M2. Yes so small case. YMMV on larger cases, although my case temps don't get high, just CPU temp.
I was thinking of the 4090FE which has the rear blower design. Although in my case since the sides are fully vented, an AIB would also just blow outside the sides...
I've been playing with it a bunch and got it in a "good for now" state. I have a rear intake now on the CPU tower and removed the +200Mhz PBO boost I had (just leaving PBO -35). My temps are down to 75-80C after that (they were hitting 95C before). I also bumped the 5090 up to 80% PL without it...
I'm pretty happy with the GPU temps when applying a power limit. At 75% power limit (420W power draw), GPU temp never goes above 70C and fan at 40%. Losing ~5-10% performance to shave 150W is okay with me for now. I ran my 4090FE at 80% power limit similarly and got a similar 70C @ 40%.
For me...
I ordered a liquid freezer 3 AIO which arrives tomorrow, and I'll swap my tower for that. I'm expecting a large improvement. Ah well - back to the AIO world :D. I'd say 5090FE is a no-go for CPU towers.
Yes, I think aio cooler is the only option for the FE this generation unfortunately. I don't get why nvidia went with this design. I guess to make it 2 slot? But couldn't they have at least modified the fins to blow outwards?
I'm kind of shocked this wasn't covered much by any reviewer. The rear FE fan is literally flush against the NVME heatsink of my mobo and 2cm away from the CPU tower. So how am I supposed to keep this cool? Lol.
I agree AIB is the way to go this generation, but will cost a lot more.
I'm...
