Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think Ill go with Debian , wich is my best known option,
But I'll give BSD a try on a test machine, to see if I can handle it easily and then migrate the RAID to it.
Thaks all

That blinking usually means that the drive has not enough wattage to operate, i have seen it with different ext drives, seagate and vantec.
The blinking ocurs even when it is the only USB drive connected? Does it have a conector for a 12 V PSU?
Try to connect ot to a self-powered USB hub...
Just was wondering if building a new one on win 2k , some flavour of linux, posibly Debian, FreeBSD, or some dedicated distro as FreeNAS or so.
So, what did you choose and why?
Thaks for answering,
Forgot to say that it will have to handle some kinda torrent app , a not very solicited webserver and a mail server.
We will need not less than 1 Tb, so I thought mirroring that was going to be expensive also, but lacking the RAID 5 sexyness
So Sempron is the...
Hi all,
I am just about to build a media/file server, with a trusty RAID 5 for the rest of the comps around, and let them run with a single drive.
I need a proccesor that will stay cool, also I,d like to go double core, but i dont i really need it,
It wont be OCed at all,
Should I buy...
I have a L30 with 1/2 tubes, I planned the setup to use that tube size on all the components.
Even put a bigger tube from the reservoir to the bomb changing the intake barb so is has a more "easy" intake,
And i dont call mines big fat, but I would call 3/8 ones skinny.
Go for the 60+, i have an old 61(black 60) and had to mod it to fit two 9 cm fans because it needed a too cruel mod to get a 12 cm in there,
And you can allways buy a window panel,
SCSI for sure , unless you really need a lot of space and cannot afford it to be on SCSI
But maybe i would still go for the level 5 RAID, if you have to add more discs, performance wil keep up increasing, And the updates have to be done in pairs with RAID 10 (forget 0+1 please)
Saludos
I remember having dreamed of something like that once.
I also vote for tapes.
And, even knowing price is not an issue, why not fusing media server with the dataserver? you could even use it to control your tape robot,
and, what about a NAS for storage, and a cluster for the 2 most...
Thank you all for the feedback.
Now just a, maybe subjective, question:
Would you prefer to use low noise, low cfm fans or regulate a couple of nice 100 cfm ones?
And, i don't have much space, so 3,5cm width fans could mean a total reorganization of the circuit,
What fan would you...
