Well, my dad went ahead and called tech support himself. Turns out the process above didn't work for him. Dunno why.
I didn't witness what he did, but he tells me that he was instructed to update SmartWare, and while doing so a message popped up telling him he needs to reset the drive, and...
I don't know, I'm asking you.
Fun story. My dad has a WD Passport Essential with it's fancy schmancy encryption. He set a password, locked the thing and forgot the password. So the drive is essentially useless. After scouring the internet for a way to recover the password, I learn that there is...
It's great to see the warmth of wood brought into a computer case. I'm so tired of high gloss automotive finishes and super bright LEDs. I've been thinking about making a wood case, but I don't have the time or the skill. I'd offer to buy a case from you but I don't think I have enough money...
I'm looking for something I can use to control the QoS for upstream and downstream so that I can torrent and not bother my roommates' gaming or anything else for that matter. I know D-Link offers routers that have QoS control, but from the looks of it they only support upstream. I'm starting to...
Yeah, AMD's ability to beat Intel was dependent on the nForce chipsets. I don't think AMD would gain much by merging with ATI except maybe eliminating nVidia's competition for them. Which would be stupid. If AMD wants to be sure they get the best chipsets without making them themselves, they...
If you're worried about the power supply. It looks like you could buy the micro atx board by itself. Then go buy a micro atx case and a powersupply you like.
The SN26P doesn't have space for two dual slot coolers. the cooler will block the second pci-e x16 slot. At least to my knowledge, which could be wrong. Unless that is, you use aftermarket single slot coolers.
That link would have gone to the shuttle SN26P. The ICE heatpipe solution is probably the best air cooler you can get that fits in the case, especially in the p chasis because it draws cool air directly form outside the case (unless you remove the cpu shrouding duct because your graphics card is...
If the GTX 512mb is a dual slot design, you might as well go with the SN25p.
On another note, I noticed that the SN26P disapeared from New Egg's invetory today and It wasn't listed on pricewatch. maybe shuttle decided that they should include the heatpipes after all and recalled all the...
If Steam type content distribution system was ubiquitous, then I don't think advertisment should be that big of a deal. Picture this: everytime you log on a message pops up to tell you what new games are availible (naturally the users can control if they want to see this ads or not or how often...
A rather simple solution is to have a physics API that works with and without the chip, Ageias NovedeX API seems to be doing this. so the API runs the software render for people without the chip and the people with the chip will get the hardware to run.
as for how a wall will be destroyed...
