Dimmers as in the dimmers of a light switch? I do at my other place, yeah, but I've tried the ps4 both there and where I currently am, where I don't have any dimmers, and the noise is the same. This is when plugged directly in the wall.

I just tried this out, and the noise is definitely still there.

I hear it while plugging it directly into the wall, AND while using one of these extenders. I'm also hearing it in two different places of residence while plugged straight into the wall, so unless something's wrong with both houses wiring-wise, it's gotta be the machine, is my guess.

You've got a PC for just that purpose. Also, developers will always develop for the lowest common denominator with the largest install base anyway. And if you're subtly trying to talk about the steambox, I'm pretty sure that if they're going for any marketshare, they'll be going for the PC...
