I have a 2407 and an NEC 20WMGX2... I love the 2407 even more so than the NEC. The difference in size is huge, and the difference in image quality is minimal between the two.... You will not be disapointed with the 2407!
Check out the pic I took comparing the NEC vs the samsung, the NEC is 20".... I've since returned my samsung panel, and will probably pick up either another NEC panel or a 24" from dell.
The difference in price between the two in Canada, was only $100. (450 vs 550).
In the pic i took, brightness was set at 65, contrast at 80, and gamma at 1. I've turned the brightness up to 100 and it still can't compare to the NEC. I also find that it's difficult to stare at the samsung...
Here's a pic for you...My camera's crap, so i don't think you can really see too much detail in the pic. I will say that the NEC panel has much more clarity, more vibrant colors and you see very fine details, whereas the 226bw, the image is not as clear alot of the detail seems washed out, and...
When I first picked up the samsungs, i thought they looked sweet, since I was moving from a 5 year old CRT. Now that I have the 226BW and the NEC20WGX2 hooked up side by side, on dual dvi, the color of the samsung looks pathetic in comparison, and the NEC looks much brighter, sharper and...
I recently picked two of these panels up, One was A" and one was an S" panel. Overall, they both looked pretty similar. I've since taken my A" panel back and picked up the 20WMGX2 as my second panel, and it makes the Samsung look like crap. S-IPS panels are definetly the way to go!
I just bought two Samsung226bw panels for a dual monitor set-up but am not completely satisfied. Basically the NEC monitor is on sale, about 100$ more than what I paid for the samsungs. Is it worth it for me to return one of the samsung panels and get the NEC instead and how much difference in...
I will try to do more tests this weekend for you guys after I get my new video card..., maybe someone could let me know how to get optimal configurations for each panel, before I take the pics??
Ok guys, here's a pic of both panels, the right side is A" panel
I'm using two different video cards, both VGA, one from my laptop and one from desktop, and the display resolutions were slightly different on each, (next time i post, i'll make sure they have the same settings, don't have...
Well I've been playing around with both panels today, and so far they look pretty similar, I can't really notice any major differences between the too, the A' panel does have slightly more bleeding in the corners though. I've tried playing some DVDs on both, and it looked ok. But I only have VGA...
Today I picked up two of these panels, turns out one is an A, and one is an S... Right now, one is hooked up two my laptop, and the other by a VGA connection from my desktop.. I'm gonna pick up a new video card this week with dual dvi, and will take some picks...
My local futureshop finally started carrying the samsung yesterday... So i went to the store today and picked one up.... SO far looks great, got an S' panel... Pretty happy with it so far!
I was looking at the cost price for future shop today, they get the monitor for 350 and have marked it up 43%... So if you can wait a bit, I'm sure it will drop down in price pretty soon.
