I was trying to get @guitarherochris to do the final finishing, but he has sadly disappeared. From both here and text. :(

Here is my Grade V walnut stock for the same gun. I just need to buy the tool to re-checker the stock because I like extra sharp checkering.

I'll agree with Phase here. Once you've hit the Beretta 692 price point, you're not getting much better in fit. It's the finish that people care about after that.

    Then you have garage queens.

I know reliability for break-action shotguns is the top priority since a lot of the weight is stressing a very small receiver (and it's a competition gun usually) but what separates, say, a $5,000 shotgun and a $50,000 one?
I totally understand why you guys might say a sub-$2,000 gun is janky because it just won't last

Quality of the reciever (diminishing returns) and outside of that it's the wood and all of the hand cavings in the reciever.

Go watch Olympic Skeet. I'm certainly not that good, but the gun isn't shouldered.

Got it. At my club we start with the stock in our hip/thigh/stomach.

So it's "pull", aquire, mount and shoot.

Trap and skeet have different challenges. At least with skeet I know where the clays are supposed to be.

I'm just going to have to go get fitted.

When you shoot trap, do you yell pull with the gun mounted or stock on your hip?

How did he fit you for it?

    Or just raised?

So you have an adjustable comb?

My dream gun is a Kreigoff K-80 Skeet as an heirloom item, but I have neither the money, nor the skill to "need" that shotgun.

I have a long-ish neck for my body size. I think a raised comb+raised rib would be more comfortable. I shoot skeet, not trap.

I've never shot a shotgun with an adjustable comb, but I'm strongly considering a DT11 ACS over my Citori 725.
