Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks for great answers so far. I guess a true SFF is the lightest of my requirements. I could definitely go up a notch. Disregarding size, would Ryzen still be preferable? I just kind of always went for Intel, and I've never been disappointed. AMD GPU's on the other hand ...
I need a work computer, and I don't really know where to begin as I haven't been updated in the hardware field for a while. I've copy/pasted the relevant questions from the sticky blow:
1. What will you be doing with this PC?
Programming, compiling code, lots of stuff running at all times.
3...
Hello
It's been a few years since I last upgraded my computer, so I thought I'd consult someone who's more up2date than I currently am myself.
I have an Asus P9X79 Pro motherboard, with Corsair Dominator DDR3 PC15000/1866MHz CL9 4x4GB memory.
However, I would like to upgrade the memory to...
I have a couple of RAID5 arrays (6x2TB ea.) running on an Areca 1880i controller coupled with a HP-SAS-Expander.
Due to massive degeneration in performance lately I want to benchmark the HDD's individually.
Is there a go-to method of doing this that does not involve degrading the array...
Hello
I've been running RAID5 in my server with a HP SAS expander and an Areca controller. However, drives die and I now need replacement. The natural choice would be Samsung F4's as that's what I've been using all along, but these are no longer available in my country, which isn't too weird as...
Hello!
So I was using my computer, suddenly it goes dark. I try and boot it back up, fans spin etc, but that's it. MB is stuck at Q-code 00 and the CPU_LED is glowing red. I've detached all extra HW, and getting the same result.
So I guess it's down to PSU, MB or CPU.
Any clues? I really...
Yes, I am aware of this. However, I was just happy I got the array backup, and I managed to backup the important. So I'm not sure if I'll bother rebuilding it as it is, as I managed to corrupt half of it by doing chkdsk. Might just create a new array and start fresh - not sure though.
I was...
Alright I guess chkdsk was a bad idea. It fixed a lot, but also broke a lot. Left me 15k 0 byte files, and corrupted a whole bunch.
Strange thing is, lots of the 0 byte files were intact before i did ckhdsk. Oh well.
I'm getting this message on a bunch of folders: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/176646
However, everything I'm backing up seems to have it's CRC intact. I've backed up 1.5TB so far. Though I'm running out of backup space :s
Think just placing a healthy drive in, and running chkdsk could fix...
I managed to get the array back online. Though a lot of folders are showing up as "corrupted". Running backup of whatever I can find atm, while it's back. Probably 70% is still intact.
All I did was removing the failed drive (turns out only one drive actually failed), then put the array...
