So here's the problem: I bought a Western Digital Caviar SE16 500 GB AAKS and BIOS recognizes is correctly as does device manager, but it doesn't show under "my computer" and I can't access it. I have a P5B motherboard and I used the SATA cables that came with the MOBO to connect this WDC. I...
I'm having trouble unlocking some custom resolutions (1280x800 and 1440x900). With my old graphics card (Club3d 7600 GT) it worked just fine in Powerstrip, but with my stupid Gainward Golden Sample 8600 GT the "custom timings" button is greyed and the drivers won't let me change it. I've tried...
How do you guys like the viewing angles? If there are 2-3 people sitting in front of the screen, is it enjoyable for all of them, or does the image get unwatchable?
Thanks for replying. Vertical viewing angles don't really matter, I'm just concerned about horizontal angles. After some experimenting at home I think you're right. Under normal circumstances, even when having 3 people in front of my screen, the viewing angles will be pretty small. Should be...
Interesting theory, you might be right about the backlight. However, Chimei does NOT make all 22" panels. Samsung 226BW uses AUO and Samsung panels. I'm not sure but I think the LG uses some other panel too.
But if backlight really does contribute to viewing angles, then wouldn't Sammy 226BW...
I realize that TN technology seriously limits viewing angles, but from what I've read, some 22 inchers have way better viewing angles than others. AFAIK it depends on the panel manufacturer and the components used. So my question is, what display do YOU think has the best viewing angles? I've...
So 17" and 19" LCD monitors use 1280x1024 resolution, which makes them 5:4, but what about 20.1"? 20.1 inchers use 1600x1200 and 1400x1050, so are they in fact 4:3? Of course the resolution is in 4:3 aspect ratio, but is the actual viewable area 4:3, like in all CRTs?
Hmm I may be getting a Gf 7600 GT (AGP) for christmas, do you think that would be enough for widescreen? Also, if using a resolution like 800x600 or 1024x768 with 4:3 aspect ratio (through nvidia drivers?), does the image fill the entire vertical area, or will it be a small "cube" in the middle...
Thanks for the reply. I don't think I could live with stretched image or even centered image. Most of the games I play support widescreen, but occasionally I play older games which only run at 4:3 aspect ratio. Are you sure you can't change any of it with the newest Catalyst? Also I'm thinking...
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I have a couple of questions about LCD displays. I've been looking for a new 20-22" monitor for a while now, but there are some things I need to know before deciding anything.
1. How bad does it look when NOT using native resolution? My computer's not so hot...
