Hey Tirpitz, thanks so much for the detailed review. I was tossing up whether to get this or a Sony 43" x800d. My usage is very similar to yours so pulling the trigger tonight.

Has anyone used either the new Philips bdm4037uw or Sony xbr43x800d for general desktop use as well as some photo editing in lightroom? I want to buy one but not sure which is preferable as a pc monitor for work which requires colour accuracy. Cheers
