Actually, I can tell you exactly the amount of space. The samsung ram is 19mm tall and clearance is 52mm, so you've got 33mm of clearance with this stuff. Less the 25mm for the fan and you're clear by 8 mm. Ballistix LP is 30mm by comparison, so you're stuck with the 20mm fan. You can always...
Figured I'd post this here as well to help fellow SG05/SG06 owners. The silverstone NT06-Pro looks like the new king of air cooling for this case. Tests at chiphell have this beating out the AXP-100 when the same guy tested both of them in separate reviews vs exact same basic Intel temp results.
Woohoo, success report. Fits fine on a Gigabyte GA-Z77N without blocking the card. I got some of the Samsung ultra low height ram and stuck a 25mm Noiseblocker M12-PS under there with zip ties. Fits perfectly in an SG05/SG06. Next step is sticking a PWM 15mm fan in the PSU and running them...
For those that have a GB Z77N, I find it hard to believe that this wouldn't it in the same orientation:
If anything, the GB looks to have about 1mm more space between the PCI-E and the socket.
So, it looks like these guys were hitting 4.5ghz @1.14v stable and maxing out at around 90C under prime 95 with this thing. I may need to buy it, considering my max O/C is 3.9 ghz at 80C right now with the Samuel 17 on an SG05. CPU package was 44C max at stock...
