PC self-shutting down after being turned off for extended periods

Hey guys, I have a self-built system which always worked flawlessly and it's usually turned on 24/7. I went away for some 3 weeks in Easter and left it turned off. Upon my return, I booted the PC for the first time and it hung half-way through with Windows 7 loading screen. After a reboot, I...

PC switches back on by itself after powering off

Checked virtually all BIOS settings & I still can't figure it out. I'm guessing everything points towards a faulty PSU... but before I go buy a new one, I was wondering what the GROUND header is for? It's coming from my case along with other USB headers from the front panel, but I don't really...

PC switches back on by itself after powering off

Doesn't the fact that the computer doesn't switch itself back on when I don't plug in the 12V atX i mentioned suggest that it's not the PSU and something to do with the MB's settings??

PC swtiches itself back on after shutdown (GA-EP35 DS3)

I noticed that this doesn't happen when I leave the 12V ATX connection of the PSU disconnected from the MB (it's this guy here that I'm talking about): But I don't see anything on the screen when I switch on my computer without it, so it's not much of a solution :(

PC swtiches itself back on after shutdown (GA-EP35 DS3)

Hi, I've built a few systems already before, but I've run into some trouble building my latest one. Everytime after I switch off the computer, either through windows shutdown or through the power button, the computer switches off and after 4-5 seconds, it powers itself back on! It's quite...

System with overclocked Pentium 4 D805

How much impact would there be on performance if I went for say DDR2-400? Is there a performance comparison for the D805 @ 4.0GHz (200 FSB) with DDR2 @ 400, 667 & 800? My main concern is performance for games, namely Oblivion. Thanks for the help.

System with overclocked Pentium 4 D805

hmm is it really? Isn't 800MHz Bus speed = to dual DRR400 or 1 DDR2-800? Does this mobo operate at dual DDR2?

what was your memory's frequency running at, at 4.1?

System with overclocked Pentium 4 D805

But to have the memory multiplier to FSB ratio at 2:1 @ 4Ghz don't I need DDR2-800? As for the motherboard, I picked one which had native compatibility with DDR2-800 to make sure i could reach those memory frequencies. Are you saying I could go for cheaper MB & RAM and still get same results...
