• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Vista OEM: What is the activation married to?

Exactly. I've had my OEM copy of XP Pro for 5 years now and I've changed the entire system probably 4 times over that time; each time, I just called Microsoft, got a new number, and when they asked, I told them I changed several components in the system, and that was it.

All Vista users should count down to 2-28-07 then...

The instant "class action lawsuit" appears and is not referring to kids getting cancer because of tainted groundwater, it's pretty much next thread.

NDA for LOTRO lifted, whats your opinion

Along with the other issues mentioned, my "geek" side took over when I noticed lore changes /omissions in the game. In something like WoW, I don't mind as much I as do for a game set in the well-established LotR universe.

I ordered the wrong PSU. What can I do?

Getting a buster-ass power supply is almost as bad as having a pirated anti-virus on your system. I'd send it back for a better one, asap.

WTS Wow and Bc retail box's

Even if someone bought your games, they can't play them using the CD-keys. Those keys are tied to your account permanently.

    Banning Social Networks From Schools

Solution: the instant a kid in school is caught loading up Myspace or Facebook, taht kid has to use the ENCYCLOPEDIAS to finish his/her paper. The shame should curb the behavior.

How to force a higher resolution?

I was under the impression you could not go higher than the native res on an LCD. You can go lower, but not higher.

    Windows XP

Unfortunately, it's against the rules. I had an OEM full Vista Home Premium unactivated I had to remove at several other forums due to similar rules. Sorry. :(

    readyboost ready thumbdrives?

Apparently, many USB thumbdrives touted as "high speed" only have high speed RAM in the first 128 MB or so, which causes Vista to not accept it as ReadyBoost compatible.

    readyboost ready thumbdrives?

http://www.grantgibson.co.uk/misc/readyboost/ Is a good user-submitted resource, although not 100% accurate due to natural variances between users.

Windows Vista. Been there, done that, went back to XP...

I will say that I am not a "hardcore gamer" or power user, because I have a Dell XPS 410 computer. I was fortunate that all my drivers were already included with Vista (although I did update certain ones) and I've had no real problem with it. I did not like all the services Vista loads by...
