What am I paying 7 grand for here?

These guys have been around. I was researching buying a pc rather then building one a year or so ago and these dudes have been around quite a while. You can find reviews on some of their older systems pre 2005. I'm surprised in this economy they are still around, but they're.

    internal liquid cooled shuttles?

I had the worst luck ever with my Shuttle, that thing overheated like there was no tommorrow. I eventually fried my motherboard and hard drive. This was a 2-3 years back though, and looking at those pictures they appear to have some improved cooling.

Circuit City Jacks Up Prices For Liquidation

And the Liquidator (atleast in my area) is the same scumbags who closed out Office Depot in my area because they were one of the stores dropped. It's usually the same company, and they do the same bullshit 10-30 percent off in the beginning, which is usually the same everday price after they...

Nehalem desktops: Gateway vs. the rest?

Odd enough Gateway has yanked all the models from their website, and Best Buy has yanked the $2999 expensive i7 gateway from their website too: http://www.gateway.com/systems/series/529598057.php?cmpid=ms_fx and http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=abcat0501003&type=category...

Nehalem desktops: Gateway vs. the rest?

Cyberpower is hit or miss (mostly miss). Do a search for them here and you will find some good information. For $1250 that Gateway is probably the rest bet for you if you want i7. The PSU is Delta I beleive.

    Gateway P-7805u $1050 @ BB

The problem is that the retail stores don't show any of these in their warehouse. I checked all local BB and they are not in stock and they do not foresee them in stock for another 2 weeks. PS- I don't know if anyone noticed, but as of today its on sale for $1049 again

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9172511&type=product&id=1218043606827 It's official. I went to all my local BB and they don't have ANY incoming or in the warehouse. I noticed they jacked up the price another $100 but it's currently on sale for $1049.

Nehalem desktops: Gateway vs. the rest?

I'm still waiting to jump aboard the i7 bandwagon, but I have looked into both of those Gateway models and I haven't been able to check out the other Gateway system because it's only available online at Best Buy. Both of those Gateway systems are Best Buy exclusives. You won't see much on the...

Oil immersion PC - Reactor by Hardcore Computer

It is definitley very cool, a novel concept, but like was said before, now that a completely new platform that has come out its already outdated (Kinda like Omen and Voodoo), alot of R+D just went into a PC to have i7 replace it. It is a very custom system thats for sure, and I guess most people...

Nehalem desktops: Gateway vs. the rest?

I have a Velocity Micro that I bought for my girlfriend, an E2250 with Liquid Cooling, Q9450 and its a super quiet machine. I couldn't imagine that the i7 would be a heck of alot louder, but its possible since they use air cooling on the processor and not liquid cooling. The build process was...
