Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just wanted to remind people about these two cases, in case the layouts are useful/interesting.
I did a number of design studies before making these cases.
Orangebox (no not the game)
Case outside dimensions: 11 3/8" by 9 1/4" by 7.5" (About the size of an SG-05)
This is using 1/8th inch...
Anyone think the King stand would work with three Dell u2711s?
The u2711s are 25.5 horizontal inches each, which puts it 1.5" more than spec would allow.
Anyone with the Chief KTA325B can say if they would work or if any easyish modification would work?
Save that, the next closest seems to be...
Actually, a mod of the sugo05 was my prototype :) ... and it all fit. The tx650, the gtx285, the MB, etc. I didn't like it as much, though, and so orangebox was born.
As for temps over ambient? I don't remember-- I just remember being extremely satisfied, though. It also depended on which...
It was one of the things I considered... but it turned out that I had zero problems at all with airflow-- the CPU has its own region of intake and expel, as does the video card, and even the powersupply does.
I actually removed the intake fan for the CPU-- it wasn't even necessary for my setup...
In that case, just take the "SBUs", and then buy a daily pass when you need to use the tools, or, find a friend who is a member and do joint projects, heh.
I belong to a place called "TechShop", where members get to use awesome tools like lasercutters, etc. I think the new on in SF may have a waterjet cutter, which I'd love to use someday!

re: apple keyboard
Some of the keys aren't mappable, and that is annoying-- I don't have a printscreen nor sysreq key, for instance. I've obviously mapped the important stuff though :)
Unfortunately no build log, but I do have pictures of it posted elsewhere, and also those of 'orangebox'.
They're both mini-itx cases. If I ever decide to go SLI I'll make a micro-atx case-- should be just a hair bigger than these.
Someone here has asked me to make them a case like this. It'll...
Yup. Epilog Helix 24 http://www.epiloglaser.com/legend_helix.htm and... well, coreldraw. I designed it all in my head at first.
Here is what it looks like in action (the acrylic still has its masking on, which is a good idea for sure).
YouTube - ‪60W Epilog Laser in...
I laser-cut them with a 60w laser!
They come out (when it is done properly) looking very pretty indeed-- the edges are not quite buff-polished, but still quite clear.
... and isn't the 6990 12" long?
That does not seem like it could fit within the case that you're looking at, if the specs quoted are correct.
A 6970 could fit... maaaybe.
The gtx580 would fit for sure.
The "bluebox" case I made was made for the 5970, which is the same size as the 6990.
Yea, the apple keyboard works fine. I wish I could remap some of the keys. I still think it is stilly that Apple won't release a driver for PC for it-- only for bootcamp. *bleh*.
I really, REALLY REALLY miss my BTC 6300CL, though. It had an accident with a fan while I was making this computer...
Heh that too is orange.
The initial incarnation of this computer was made with 100% "amber" (really orange) panels, thus the name.
The most interesting thing about that at the time was that the heatsink inside was a SpinQ with a blue light. .. Well, the amber panels 100% filtered out that...
