Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I like the silverstone fm123's. Versatility is why. They are very quiet and move a bunch of air, and if you need them to, they will ramp the hell up and blow like 100cfm.
Man, for the build you see in the sig, I bought SOOOO MANY FANS... i wanted to be stocked up, and have the freedom to...
Right now you're just pissing in the wind... good suggestion to remove all the peripherals.. but first thing i'd have done is look in my mobo manual and try figuring out what those beep codes actually meant. Should give you some kinda idea as to the general problem area.
Guess after...
What I've learned from this experience.. so far:
-WinXP seems to require slightly less cpu voltage or, be slightly more efficient than Vista, to remain stable given the same system devices/load.
-Albeit for just for a short time, the stress of installing nvidia drivers spikes higher than the...
1. intel chipset drivers, installed: 'Intel_INFChipset_V8311011_XPVista.zip (i hate how asus uses soo much javascript and you can't save direct links to the specific board drivers!
2. nvidia forceware 177.41 vistax64, installed...
so.. there's more then.. it's not the dwa-556.
I removed it, and still at oc setting which had previously been stable running prime95 v25 for over 12 hours at a time, I got the bsod installing the forceware drivers.
I reset the bios to defaults and the driver then went in, on vistax64...
I wanted to see if doing the chipset infinstall first would make a difference... but it didn't :(. Been pulling my hair out, and now, i've pulled the wireless card out too!
Doing my 9th vista install now.
I don't know, i don't think there are any firmware updates for either the gtx260 or the...
Once again I attempted to get it working. Installed the drivers in this order:
1. atheros generic dwa-556 wireless drivers. (newer than the ones I had been trying on dlink's site)
2. Intel x64 chipset drivers (added a buncha stuff for pcie root ports and such)
3. atheros l1 pci-e gigibyte...
MassiveOverkill, you give me hope...
I only have one available pci-e x1 because the gtx260 covers the other one up....
I'm running a corsair modular 620w psu.
I haven't even tried anything past 3.2ghz yet.. but, i couldn't get ANY kind of oc stable until i did the vdroop pencil mod, which...
Well, I had been stable.. ran prime95 v25.x for 12 hours or more.. a few times in fact... I don't know.. I've been fighting vista from the first install.. which I was able to install the nvidia drivers on once... seems like things went to hell in vista once I installed the dlink dwa-556 pci-e x1...
Well, I thought researching all the parts for my new machine would make getting everything up and running as easy as possible...
And if this is as easy as possible, ug, I'd hate to see how rough it'd be not buying good parts..
So, I have a p5e-vm hdmi mobo, q9450, 4gbram, MSI gtx260.. ...
Thanks for the response Leman.
I was thinking about the GSkill, then read a couple reviews where people stated that the mushkins oc a little bit better. I don't think that they've improved the head spreaders tho, as I've read about them being annoying a few places now.
I was considering...
So i've been researching this build for about a month now, read nearly every thread in the sff forum, seen the masterwork of tremeloes, and fine work by others such as emax.
I wouldn't say this box will be used for any one thing in particular, but, I'd like it to have the potential for...
