Well it usually shows when it is sold out. My fear is they found a problem with the model and discontinued it. Not definitive, but I certainly wouldn't put it past any company nowadays to not realize their mistake until the customer has a problem before pulling a card.
Why get that one over the overclocked model? Wait, I just tried to find it and it seems to be gone? Did they discontinue this too?
I purchased the one clocked at 1746, instead of 1600.
I noticed that Overdrive only allows me to overclock up to about 1800 memory. Is this normal?
Are there...
I'm not defensive, I am annoyed. I fix computers for a living, I know more than the average person and I ask a simple question, which card is better.
Many responses I got back showed a certain selfishness in response "I think this will be better".
I don't mind some extra opinions, but...
I also would have thrown in a non-functioning obsolete video card to put on the shelf like you are going to do with the old 3850, I'm not going to rip you off.
Well since my 3850 is functioning (and as I was pointing out to the people such as yourself who don't read threads before posting)...
You know what's even funnier than money wasting? Ignorant posters who don't read the thread before posting.
I think I made it pretty clear what my intentions were. I fix computers for a living and I am fully aware I can buy a create a new system, problem is, I want it easy.
The question is...
Because it is discontinued
"You spent $115 on a 4670?? Damn you coulda shipped me your 3850 and I woulda fixed the fan for $100 and shipped it back.."
So I could save 15 dollars, but only have 1 video card instead of 2, does that sound like a good idea, no. Basically I am paying you money...
Well, the 4670 definitely runs slower than the 3850 especially considering it has no stock Ati overdrive function and no overclocking utilities work with it.
How do you Overclock the 4670?
I appreciate all the help guys, but make sure when you comment on something you are SURE about it. I...
I see two listed on New Egg. Powercooler, and HIS. Any idea which brand is more reliable. The HIS is more expensive.

See, shame to responses like this:
"Mister E Dude they said yes.......... "
See Mister E, there are many people out there showing that the 3850 is a better choice. This isn't so cut and dry.
We need more info!
"Yup, something I've had to do a time or two. Getting a new card because of a failing fan is, to me, like buying a new car because your old one has bad tires."
Sure, if the tires cost $2500-5000 a piece (on a 20-30k car) then yeah it would be.
The fan is a great idea, but I am just going to...
I did Google it and got mixed results so I figured I'd ask in a place where people were a little more knowledgeable (and usually a little more helpful ;).
Guys, this is simple, I need to know which card
4670 or 3850.
I am not getting anything else, and this is my secondary system that my friends use, I have a PCI-e system, I just want to keep their frame rates and graphics high enough so they can have fun.
Basically, which card...
Yikes, my fan is failing after only 6-9 months. When I went to newegg to find another, I saw that new-egg no longer carries the HD 3850.
Has this card been discontinued? I need the fastest AGP solution available, I heard that it was the 3850, but if that's true, why is it impossible to...
