Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I have a Sharkoon with the same fan and it doesn't make any clicking noise. I don't think there's anything special about Sharkoon either, they likely just copied whatever Sirfa had on the table. Maybe it's a bad batch or just poor QC from Globe Fan. No sleep or hibernation here though, maybe...
Update 2:
It's almost silent at idle and still very quiet at load. Keep in mind this may change depending on your power draw. Here it peaked at around 300W and personally I can't complain. I think this is as good as it gets with a 120x15mm fan, other than an improved fan curve and maybe...
Update 1:
Adding pinouts. Feel free to use its layout for other psu.
For simplicity, colors are only added as visual cues.
Unfortunately, the ATX 20+4 pin is not mirrored.
Here it is, so just my early impressions.
The build quality seems to be top notch: no bends, no loose screws, no whobbling parts. I like the painting which is quite resistant to fingerprints and it fells really solid on hands and well put together overall.
When I tried to shake it...
So the High Power SFX-L500GD stock fan was louder and Silverstone involvement resulted in a quieter fan which Sirfa than decided to offer to other partners? Was the ribbon cable Silverstone input as well?
By the way, why not add an Eco mode akin to EVGA's G2 in a future revision? Could you...
ATX: EVGA G2 550W with custom cable if size is a problem.
SFX-L: Fans are about the same if not close to spec. There aren't many options for an 120x15mm on the market and that's why there isn't much choice. Or alternatively, Silverstone is working on a 700w psu and they seem to be concerned...
Is it worth upgrading for an Sharkoon SilentStorm 500 SFX Gold at $70 or should i just keep my 5 years old Corsair CX400 by Seasonic?
I'm a bit scared of the the Teapo/sirfa past reputation, but i guess things change.
Thanks
