I've decided that both the GTS (g92) and the GT can suit my needs for now. I'm going with
eVGA just in case new video cards come out with 3 months as a bit of a safety net. But if
they dont I wont lose to much money cuz these cards are relatively cheap.
The GTS is suppose to come out on...
It would most likely be a 22in, slim chance 24in, the monitor I have now is only 19in and its now widescreen, I need a new one.
I do plan to upgrade to next series, hopefully in Feb. Plus if I get an eVGA then I can use Step-Up and not really lose much money at all.
Well.. my computer parts are on their way. Should be here in the next day or so. Everything
except the video card. I really wanted to have top of the line, it doesn't seem like whats top
of the line now is going to be for long. But that being said, I need to have something to hold me over...
whatever I can I guess. My monitor kinda sucks right now (Samsung 930B) So I
guess at lower rez. But I do hope to get a better monitor in the coming months.
ATI Sapphire Radeon VCX HD 3870 512M DDR4 Lite D-DVI-I - $268 CAD
How bout this? Maybe 2 in crossfire? opinion?
What about the 8800...
I ordered a desktop a few days ago. It consisted of
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
ASUS Maximus Formula Motherboard
4GB DDR II 800 nVidia SLI RAM
Western Digital 500GB
nVidia eVGA 8800 Ultra 768MB DDR3
LG 20X DVD RW w/ Lightscribe +- Dual Layer
Antec Performance P182 Aluminum ATX Mid Tower...
If my parents me to get something now. Would it be advised to get an eVGA 8800 GT,
so I would have step up with full intention of upgrading in Feb.
This way though, I would have a lesser card if the new cards come out after 90 days, which
would suck. I guess I'll have to go on the chance...
This is going to be a Christmas gift from my parents. My brother in law ordered it.
When the place I ordered from called to say that they did not have an eVGA 8800 Ultra(which
is what I was going to get, because of the Step-Up program)
he told them it was ok to send an ASUS instead. So, if I...
I may be able to get an eVGA 8800 Ultra for $680 CAD, its more than it costs on other sites.
But at least this way I'll have Step-Up, and if new cards don't come out within 3 months
then at least I have the fastest single card there is right now.
What do you think?
Also, something to think...
This is my build. These parts are ordered. An eVGA Ultra was ordered too but I was called
and told that it was out of stock, and I hear things about Feb. which makes it even harder
to make a decision.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz FSB 1066, 8MB Quad Core
ASUS Maximus Formula Motherboard...
which of those 2 would be better? If I get an eVGA 8800 GT I still get the Step-Up
program, but a new card doesn't come out in Feb, which one would I be better off
being stuck with for a few months til I raise some money to buy a new one.
Just so you know, my motherboard has crossfire but...

I hear that new Nvidia card D9E is coming out in Feb. I want to buy an 8800 Ultra. I can
get an ASUS now, but they dont have the Step-Up program, which would be nice if a new card is coming out in Feb. I was...
