    Yeah...I think most of the researches are finding the excess amount of cheap compute on the market to be more appealing as it allows them a ton of control over the work and saves them a ton of man hours troubleshooting. Considering that most of the researchers make their salaries and careers...

    Sorry...those days are probably over. I used to have a ton of boxes all over. Before I was married, I had 2 garages, 3 bedrooms, and half the living room full of computer hardware. Almost all of it was old castoffs too. I've downsized quite a bit and with WCG being in the terrible shape it is...

    Did they change up how they handle badges or is this just another goof on their part? 31 years run time does not equal a 50 year badge. 143 years run time does not equal a 200 year badge.... And it looks like this all the way down the list. The only one not doing it is Smash Childhood Cancer...

    Very much still a thing. We just don't have any competitions going right now. We usually have one end of January each year. We have added a few more teams each year to it as well. So, unless someone just gets an itch and mentions their efforts/return/etc... it doesn't get a lot of talk as there...

    Lots of projects have ended or wrapped up. Not a lot of new ones popping up due to it being cheaper and easier for most projects to self host or use cloud infrastructures. We wrapped up the BOINC Pentathlon a few weeks back. Unless something big comes up, the next big challenge isn't until January.
