The faster core clock and memory speed will increase the overall performance of the card yes, and p.s. i have an ati hd2900xt and its freakin brilliant, i take it you guys havent seen the ruby demo running on one of these cards in real time? its beyond belief.
Take the battery out of the motherboard for a few seconds and pop it back in, unless there is a 3 pin with a 2 pin cap on it near the battery, if there is switch the cap to the other pins and back again like this:
1st 2nd 3rd

Really? I didnt know that, I might wait until televisions have the functionality built in to recieve 5.1 through the HDMI before I purchase then, will give me some time to save up for a really nice one.
Hi,
Has anyone had a chance to connect their 2900 to a 1080p television with surround sound to test the HD Video and Sound output?
I am thinking about buying a HD tv for this purpose but I wanted to know what the results would be like first.
Any info appreciated

2 gigs of PC3200 wouldnt give much of a framerate increase, even if the motherboard could take DDR2 i dont think he would see much more than a 5-10% in framerate over 1 gig of pc2100.
Graphics card is the way to go here, example a 6800 Ultra vs 1950XTX sees an avereage of a 200% framerate...
When did i presume that, I just said in the same post you quoted from that the 2900 and 8800 series might be rubbish at running dx10 we dont know yet and anyone with little cash should wait until the games come out before purchasing.
I am talking about this guy, he needs a better graphics cards to get better framerates, if he wanted fewer loading screens, quicker loading times, and less caching at the start of a game then he should get more ram i agree, but he was talking about FPS.
I dont have 2 gigs of ram because I...
No, e.g. Asrock 4Core VSTA has a PCI-Express x4 slot, wont take certain video cards e.g. x2900xt 8800 gtx
check your motherboard manufacturers website first and if there isnt a compatability list then check to see if anyone else has made this hardware combination and whether they had any...
Neither would I.... I would wait until directx 10 became mainstream before choosing a card if i had little money, for all we know the 8800 and 2900 series might be RUBBISH at crysis and so on in directx 10 mode.
If you dont have alot of money, wait until you know how well something is going...
what are you guys talking about? it is obviously the graphics card, i am running my x2900xt on 1 gig of ram and its fine, and the speed difference in framerate in games between DDR1 and DDR2 is about 2-3 %
Wait until direct x 10 games to come out, i have a feeling the 2900 is going to rule at dx10, just been watching the ruby dx10 demo on my x2900 and it is better than anything i have ever seen computer game/demo wise.
